Been several times, lovely little old town with Norman castle plenty of shops to browse and good old pubs for a jar of ale.Bowland old brewery pub worth seeing old equipment and massive horse shoe bar! A must is Stansfields bakers on Castle Street by the zebra crossing and buy a "Sally Green " meat pie,must be hot, absolutely delicious. Serviced by a railway station and bus station. There are many old family businesses and shops, cafes and, of course, the fabulous Holmes Mill and its Bowland Bar and Brewery. Clitheroe is a lovely town with local shops, pubs and restaurants. The castle and its grounds are worth the climb up the hill. The town is a good base for exploring further afield. For those with walking difficulties, you should be aware that Clitheroe is on a hill and the streets can be steep. For those liking wine, there is an excellent wine shop D. Byrne & Co to explore.

I found Clitheroe to be a vibrant and friendly community, with easy access to the surrounding villages and towns. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I really enjoyed the shops and the Clitheroe residents were super friendly and engaging. I will visit again without hesitation. The market was enjoyable.

Beautiful scenery, lovely hotel which was perfect for the wedding we was attending nearby. Downfall the taxi service we booked which we was quoted on the telephone for a journey which was so close by as £7 which when we arrived was charged £20 and £30 return before midnight.claireUnited Kingdom

Very nice food too, We couldn’t recommend highly enough. We were generously offered an upgraded room to allow us to check in earlier before attending a wedding nearby, which was really helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms fitted out with everything you could need.
