The general ambience and atmosphere. The food was good and the bar had a good choice of beers. The person who checked me in was helpful in that he locked my bike securely in the cellar.

The location and ambience of the establishment made it feel like a weekend away in an Agatha Christie novel—without any of the murder mystery (thankfully.) I wish I could have stayed longer, and wish I'd brought my dog! Tremendously welcoming staff, a warm and cozy castle, an idyllic country estate...one of my favorite places I've stayed in Scotland.

A wonderful and cozy place to stay in Balleter. The host was friendly and briefed us on the do's n don't while staying there. The room was neat and clean. We appreciated very much the welcome pack of cookies and the taste of local whiskey. Breakfast was fantastic and cooked as requested from the menu. A good variety! Checking in and out was easy at the reception. A close walk to the town center.
