Small village but very quaint and with plenty of amenities available.
The train station is right in the middle of the village and connects with Llandudno from where many connections are available to England’s major cities. Around the station are restaurants and cafes, and the visitor centre is in walking distance (also with cafe and other shops).
I didn’t use any of the buses but could see a few that take you to other towns, including the ones that are a starting point to hike Snowdon.
From Betws-Y-Coed there are a few very agreeable walks like Fairy Glen, Llyn Elsi, and Swallow Falls, through the forest or along the river.
It’s a lovely place to stay for a few days. Tranquil and relaxing.

So much to do and see within a reasonable drive.
So much to do and see within a reasonable drive. Aswell as Betws-y-coed, we visited Zip World, Anglesey and Llandudno.
Some of the roads were extremely narrow, but we hardly saw any traffic on them.
Lots of lovely shops and cafes in Betws-y, and the views were amazing. We even saw the B&B that we visited 15 years ago was still there!

Attractive small town with much to see and do.
Attractive small town with much to see and do. Good range of shops, pubs and eateries all in a lovely valley setting. Good food options with take-aways, cafes, pubs, hotels and a few restaurants.
Good access generally but busy pavements when it is really crowded in the Summer.
Local.s generally welcoming and friendly. This is a clean little town that is attractive and well maintained.
Plenty to do if you enjoy walking and exploring...including some well maintained river walks - but flat land is at a premium.
There IS parking... but you often have to search for it!

Amazingly relaxing time and a pleasure to meet the Tyn-y-Coed staff - nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay.
The food and drink choices were exceptional and the log fire was a perfect backdrop to the bar and lounge.
And best of all, the location is stunning and a perfect base for our trip.
We'll be back for sure.

It's a small cottage in a beautiful location.
It's a small cottage in a beautiful location. Kitchen is tiny but perfectly adequate. Dishes are lovely. Washer, no dryer. No internet access, which is great if you're trying to get away from stress of work! Didn't receive reply to emails once we arrived, but they mY have been away. Short drive to betws y coed, which has the typical shops including an outdoor store where you can buy camping towels, if you didnt bring your own! and great food, and a wonderful hike up to a lake.

Betws y Coed is a beautiful, busy Victorian town with many scenic attractions such as waterfalls, and forest walks. Plenty of outdoor clothing & equipment shops and cafes & restaurants. The gardens and public areas are well maintained. It can get very busy at peak times and parking can be challenging. There is a wide range of accommodation from cheap bunkhouses to quality hotels.
Hotel location very close to the village centre with church nearby (nice to hear the bells). breakfast was very nice served in the room itself caused by covid restrictions, room was clean with hair-dryer, kettle and plenty of tea/coffee supply. Julie & Tony were really accommodating - prepared a take-away breakfast for us to have on our trip to the top of Snowdon. Really loved the whole area around the hotel and had a great time. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you very much for everything
We had a health problem and the owner changed the dates for us without charging extra with absolutely no hassle .
The hotel is just a short walk from the town/village Center and was very warm , this is a good walkers hotel.
It is not 5 star but very decent for the money so we were happy .
Well priced for the area and access to walking routes and transport .
The hotel is in a quiet place but at the same time on a main road.
The owner is nice and breakfast decent .
I liked how friendly the staff were.
I liked how clean and comfortable the rooms were.
I loved the views and the location beside the river and that we were able to take a walk nearby.
We had breakfast both mornings of our stay and took dinner one night. The food was excellent, dinner especially so.
The people we met locally when we walked to the nearest pub were very friendly. We were made to feel very welcome.
Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel and area.
Jeanette (and Steve) was very friendly and welcoming and helpful. Great choice of breakfast (including for us vegetarians). Great location with a picturesque river walk into the lovely Town of Betws-y-coed. On site parking was good - never a time that we couldn’t park there. Also, we left something in our room on departure and Jeanette was great at communicating and promptly sorting out posting the item to us before we headed back to Australia.
The property was just outside of the village with a short walk to local restaurants and hotels/pubs. We were able to leave car outside at the property. Gary & Jackie were fantastic hosts and gave us plenty of help with things to do in the area. Also as a bonus, the bus stop for our ride on the S1 bus to Snowdon was 20 yards from the front door. We had a great weekend, the breakfast was awesome too!
Beautiful rooms, the food is amazing with a great fish selection, the owner and staff are friendly and make you feel at home. The atmosphere is informal and the Bar has comfortable chairs to relax in for the evening, breakfast has so much choice and the service is second to none
Scott in the bar area and Hilary who served breakfast cannot do enough for you. Thank you All.
Excellent customer service, the rooms are beautifully clean, and the staff are friendly and are wonderful with children; they couldn't do enough for us. The location is perfect, it's a short walk in to the town centre and local attractions such as Zip Line World are a short drive away. We loved our time at The Waterloo Hotel and had a fantastic stay.
A lovely hotel. Lovely view of the River Conwy from the bedroom window. The bedroom was clean and nicely decorated and the shower was very modern and clean too . So much choice on the dinner menu , my steak was excellent . The staff were friendly too . Whenever I visit Betws y Coed in the future I'll be staying here .
David and Gabby provided excellent breakfasts, beautiful bathrooms, and very comfortable beds. It’s a convenient and gorgeous area of Wales and we need to go back to Summer Hill to do them all! What will I do tomorrow morning when I wake up and I’m not greeted with a bowl of fresh fruit!! Thanks, Dave!
Location was short walk from the town centre. Parking was included and easy. Bar area was nice. All staff were very pleasant. The room and bathroom was a good size for two adults with a wide bed. The breakfast is included and really nice with choice of cooked or pastries.
The room was perfect for my family of 4. Very comfortable beds and a beautiful location. Although we only stayed the 1 night, I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. If I ever get the chance to visit Wales I again, I will stay here.
Sid and Marie were very welcoming hosts with great tips and advice for things to do in the area. Great location, next to bus stop for buses to Llanberis, Mt. Snowdon and Bangor. Big breakfast served to give you a great start for active days.
Overall the hotel was a low cost option to be in a great location. Staff were friendly and really hospitable. could ask for a better location in betws y coed. Rooms are really small but reflect the price so no problem there either.
A gorgeous country hotel in a beautiful village.. It looks better than the pics!!
Super helpful and friendly staff, and a comfortable, well designed & decorated room.
Lovely lounge and bar areas.
Fabulous value for money too!
The location was perfect on the outskirt of the village. Secluded spot, yet Hotel only 2minutes away serving great food and drinks. The Hot Tub was a great touch, especially after a day on Snowdon!!
In the heart of Betws-y-Coed, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Can hike into the hills directly from the B&B. Parking available on site.
