The Cabins in the back of the property were very comfortable and cozy. The bathroom was also excellent. Would highly recommend staying here.

It was far bigger than I was expecting. Very well serviced by local buses to surrounding towns and villages. We travelled everywhere by bus. Lots of places to eat in the evening. Local people always ready and willing to help with travel advice.

I liked the central location of the Highland hotel and the activities for the children. The Winking Owl Aviemore is by far the best place to eat. It has such a huge choice of dishes at reasonable prices and great choices for celiacs and vegans. The staff at the Winking owl are lovely and there is a great atmosphere.

The town situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. There are beautiful views of all the mountains, forests and lakes. Not far from the legendary Loch Ness, it's hard to spot a monster. Amazing fogs.

It was very snowy when I arrived on Christmas day and the town was quiet. Its a pleasant place and a great stop off point to explore the area. It has plenty of cafes and restaurants, as well as shops to keep folk happy. But its real beauty is in the welcome and the access to the surrounding areas.

We visited the Highland Wildlife Park and I would recommend a full day we were unable to see all we wanted to in half a day
the Strathspey railway was enjoyable
Aviemore has a range of shops
the journey to Cairngorm is worthwhile and there are many attractions on the Rothiemuchs Estate
Reindeer Centre is very good with a walk for those able to see the reindeer on the hillside.
Golf and Fishing also availiable
Stayed in lots more expensive hotels during our last minute holiday In Scotland but this was by far one of the cheapest and best.
Owners were super nice and helpful, the hotel room was clean, room were spacious and full of light with modern furniture.
It’s in a great location on the main High street but away from the noise.
Definitely going to reserve the family room next time in aviemore.
Thanks for a lovely stay, totally recommend to everyone and avoid the silly prices around.
The room was spacious, clean and bright. The bed comfortable and an extra duvet and pillows were at hand if needed. Tea and coffee making facilities were much appreciated as was the fridge to store some cold beverages and snacks. The hotel is well located close to and in walking distance of all the local amenities, as well as the main roads leading to and from Aviemore. This was a short stay but I would not hesitate to come back to the High Range Lodge Hotel for a longer stay.
We were in the lodges this time and decor is very very tired. Big, clean lodge but just needs modernised (thread bare carpets isn’t appropriate for a £300 per night rate)!! Now been to Highlands & Aviemore hotels and still enjoy Aviemore as a location. Glad the swimming temperature is better in summer as very cold when we usually visit in January. Breakfast lovely and resort entertainment crew excellent, especially Rory!! What a hoot.
On first sight the building looked (and was) more like a pub than a hotel. However, the atmosphere within the bar area in the evening was really good. Lively, friendly chat/banter amongst the locals and even included us at times. Breakfast and Dinner were plentiful, tasty and well priced. Rooms were comfortable and warm. Location was a good base for walking, skiing (if snow available) and whisky trail, plus general tourism by car.
Lovely independent hotel in the middle of Aviemore. We booked an economy room which was small but ideal for one night. Ate at the restaurant which was a lovely meal - there was even a smaller portions option for the over 60s. Excellent breakfast with hot and cold options. Plenty of car parking, directly opposite the railway station and very close to the main shopping parade. We will use this hotel again.
The meal we had in the Aspect restaurant was superb, staff very attentive.
We were originally booked into the Aviemore Hotel but this was changed to the Highland Hotel- we received an upgrade and the rooms were very nice and in actual fact the Highland Hotel is the nicer of the two with the swimming pool and play zone at this site which is easier to access than walking to it from the Aviemore Hotel.
Location is really good and walk to hotel is fascinating. Also, railway station and m&s kiosk which is 24x7 open makes location perfect for stay in woods.
I will give thumbs up for very friendly staff who goes over and beyond expectations to make your stay perfect.
Another point to be noted is few restaurants are available nearby that help you to save some time.
The hotel was spotless and the bed/ pillows were so comfortable. The hotel is in a great location right in the middle of Aviemore close to a variety of activities. The food is amazing as was the breakfast and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning
The hotel is very well located within of Aviemore. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Lovely breakfast buffet in the morning with lots of choices.
There are several restaurants on the resort.
The price-quality combination was very good. It was very good value for money.
We loved our hosts, so accommodating and helpful. The home-cooked breakfast was perfect. The shared kitchen facility had everything needed to host our own meals. The pod was laid out well and the bed was the most comfortable bed of all our hotel stays in Scotland (5).
The fifth time I've stayed here and it was as good as always. The lodges are well stocked with everything you'd need including shampoo and shower gel. It's an easy walk into Aviemore for food and supplies, and the restaurant attached does lovely takeaway food.
Hotel was lovely, right in the heart of Aviemore, firework display at the bells on New Year's night was absolutely brilliant, never seen a fire work display as good anywhere in my life, well worth it. Breakfast was awesome and views are 2nd to none.
Large, comfortable hotel, suitable for families. Great indoor facilities including swimming pool and softplay and my children loved them. On-site restaurants were lovely and staff were friendly. Hotel was clean and really very nice.
Beautifully decorated, luxurious apartment for four people but with enough space, crockery etc. to entertain more, if required. Great location in Aviemore with many nearby shops, restaurants etc.
I was many, many times in Aviemore and always stay in hotels, and that was a mistake! Perfect place for holiday ! You can find even board games and lego for kids 😉
