Eidfjord is a very practical location since from there is access to many activities and visits that I would recommend such as Vøringsfossen, Kjeåsen, Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger and a lot of sensational excursions. Apart from that you have Hardangerfjord, the Ulvik/Voss area, Hardangervidda just a few kilometers away by car.
And the town is small, quiet and charming.

Eidfjors is an idyllic place with many things to do or enjoy. As main attractions you have the waterfall of Vøringsfossen, the norwegian nature center museum and the farms and views of Kjeåsen. Apart from that, other spectacular waterfalls and fantastic hikes. It is also a good place to relax and do nothing.

There is some great hiking in the area.
There is some great hiking in the area. We took the trail to the foot of Voringsfossen waterfall, which gave a different perspective from the viewpoints along the road. The hike to Kjeasen mountain farm is a lot of fun, with a few scrambles on the way up. This is quite steep and slippy in places so best done on a dry day. The views from the top are stunning.
We also did a day trip to Bergen from Eidfjord, if you have a car it is doable to go there and back in a day.
Eidfjord itself is very small and easy to get around. We mainly ate in our hotel (Eidfjord Fjell and Fjord Hotel) which was very nice to go for dinner.
We came back in Eidfjord just to stay in this amazing place. A cozy, warm, picturesque home next to the Fjords, run by the friendliest couple. They always hear their customers/ that they treat as friends and improve their facilities. They always welcome us with big smiles, suggestions, lots of quality toys, flowers and chocolates. Always a pleasure staying here. Amazing experience
Friendly, helpful staff – felt more like a family than a hotel. Nice breakfast with freshly cooked omelettes. Comfortable, spacious, modern hotel room. Only 9 rooms on the property; all on the ground floor. Comfortable lounge area with free tea. The owners run an adventure travel company (kayaking, biking, etc.) as well.
Amazing view of the Eidfjord from our room and the dining room. Easy 5 minute walk to the fjord, restaurants, and shops. The restaurant is wonderful and the breakfast great. They even packed us a “take away” breakfast for the one morning that we planned to leave the hotel early! Super friendly and helpful staff!
The location is absolutely stunning. Right on top of the falls. The hotel itself is full of character and personality. The bed was comfortable and the shower good. The dinner was delicious. Light continental breakfast in the morning. The highlight for me was the piano that has once been played be Grieg!
We loved the dinning room and the views from there. The location is great if you are exploring Norway. The staff member was very helpful. He helped us plan our day trip as our initial plans did not work out due to bad weather. The next day he even gave us some more pointers.
This hotel was priced lower (about $75 US dollars less than another hotel) and the service, the view and the cleanliness were great! When we drove up, it looked less impressive than some of the other places, but once inside, it was great.
Great location, very close to the Hardangerfjord and the Voringfossen waterfall. The facilities were very clean and the room was very cozy, and the staff was attentive too. Nice breakfast to start the day.
Faded glory, but still a very nice location. Rooms are comfortable, comfortable beds. Stylish service in the restaurant. Perfect start for your hike in West Hardangervidda. Family run. Recommended!
The host met us outside of the hotel, great hospitality. The room was very clean and modern. The hotel was perfect for us staying a night between Vøringsfossen and Teolltunga.
Location, interiors, staff and even the food cooked by the chef .... Wish we had more time to stay in this beautiful hotel. One of the best places to stay in Eidfjord.
