We had the upper penthouse with a small terrace overlooking the whole lake, just wonderful! The food is excellent, breakfast outside or inside just perfect and the staff couldn’t be more helpful! Thank you Giovanni and team for this wonderful stay!

The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live.
The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live. For tourism? Give me a break, it's country side. Outdoor activities, walking and enjoying big lake (Zugersee).
But not really a tourist place. If you don't have business to do there, try in example Luzern and for city holidays Zurich.

Zug is very nice and amazing city, located at the beautiful lake Zugersee.
I recommend following restaurants:
Chez Ladur, Juanitos, Puccini, Zeno's and Sihlmatt in Menzingen.
Transport in Zug is easy, but you can reach interesting place in a short time just walking.

My wife and I both enjoyed the lakefront as well as the restaurants that are to be found in that area. The sunset on a clear summer night as one wound look across the water to the alps is among the most beautiful in the world. Located between Zurich and Luzern, Zug provides easy access to both.

This is my birthplace, a tax haven and therefore full of foreign companies who have their postboxes and offices here. You hear more English than Swiss German, but it still has a very Swiss feel about it. Lovely location on the lake, with a small old town, some excellent shops, 2 or 3 nice cafes (one where Audrey Hepburn used to eat Zuger Kirschtorte), and fantastic views onto the Rigi and beyond - the Alps. Lots of opportunities to take walks through fields and forests, go for swims in the lake, excellent public transport. Easy and quick to reach Lucerne, Zurich, Schwyz etc. You can also take the bus up to Unter- and Oberägeri, with a smaller, but very attractive lake, and lovely views over Lake Zug on the way.

Zug is a very cosmopolitan town between Zurich and Luzern, basically a business town but with a lovely old town and beautiful lake, If you have the time, visit Rigi mountain, with spectacular views or take a ferry round the lake and have lunch on the boat.
In winter, take in an ice hokey game or ice skate on the rink outside.

We loved Zug, such a beautiful town with the lake and old city and mountains. Easy to get around, just very expensive for Australians. We would have loved more time there had we been able to afford it.
I recently stayed for one night at Dialoghotel Eckstein, and found it to be a good, comfortable and clean hotel. The room was well-maintained and equipped with the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay.
The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious enough for my needs. The bathroom was clean and had necessary toiletries.
The location of the hotel was convenient. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I would recommend 👍🏻
We had a beatiful and pleasant stay at hotel Lowen. The room had a romantic view to the lake, it was big enough, the beds vere comfy (although it wasn't a proper double bed, just two twin beds adjanced to each other). The staff was super helpful and friendly. Breakfest was delicious, and we got freshly cooked eggs (made to our liking) and cooffee (whatever we asked for).
The hostel is close to the train stations Zug and Zug-Schutzengel so that one can easily walk. It is also close to lake Zugersee with a nearby little (grass) beach.
The hostel is clean and the staff friendly. The food is also good, with tasty vegetarian and vegan options.
Children can play in the backyard.
I like the way this hotel is set up. Shared facilities for food prep and refrigeration. Very modern decor. Located in what feels like an industrial building, which was a bit off-putting at first. But actually, we ended up loving it. Andi, the proprietor, was quite welcoming and helpful.
The singular best part of the Zugertor was the staff. All were extremely friendly and professional. They even assisted both my wife and I with our poor German language skills. In addition the room was quiet, the shower was excellent, and the air conditioner was great.
Great team with a very good service.. Bistro in the hotel is amazing. Location couldn't be better. From reception to service team everyone was so helpful and friendly. Even I've stayed in a single room, it was big enough. In total, this hotel is highly recommended!
I really loved the room. It was very specious, with a very nice view, the bathroom was big as well, the shower was very good, complimentary tea and coffee, very comfortable bed. The next time I go to Zug, it definitely will be this hotel!
Everything in the hotel was perfect, Specially Mr. Willy Graf he welcomed us in a very nice way , Also he was very helpful and he supported us in our trip. I recommend everyone to visit and stay in the hotel 🙏
The room was very good and nice and quiet. The location was excellent as I travel around by public transport when in Switzerland the station was perfect. The breakfast was very good with very good choices.
Location was perfect in the center of Baar by the train station. Hotel has a nice bar/restaurant at the bottom and the staff was really attentive. The triple rooms were large enough for our family.
Nice place where to stay for few days around the Canton of Zug.
We have lived for many years in the nearby therefore we knew very well the area.
The staff is very welcome and well organized
