The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live. For tourism? Give me a break, it's country side. Outdoor activities, walking and enjoying big lake (Zugersee). But not really a tourist place. If you don't have business to do there, try in example Luzern and for city holidays Zurich.

Zug is very nice and amazing city, located at the beautiful lake Zugersee. I recommend following restaurants: Chez Ladur, Juanitos, Puccini, Zeno's and Sihlmatt in Menzingen. Transport in Zug is easy, but you can reach interesting place in a short time just walking.

My wife and I both enjoyed the lakefront as well as the restaurants that are to be found in that area. The sunset on a clear summer night as one wound look across the water to the alps is among the most beautiful in the world. Located between Zurich and Luzern, Zug provides easy access to both.

This is my birthplace, a tax haven and therefore full of foreign companies who have their postboxes and offices here. You hear more English than Swiss German, but it still has a very Swiss feel about it. Lovely location on the lake, with a small old town, some excellent shops, 2 or 3 nice cafes (one where Audrey Hepburn used to eat Zuger Kirschtorte), and fantastic views onto the Rigi and beyond - the Alps. Lots of opportunities to take walks through fields and forests, go for swims in the lake, excellent public transport. Easy and quick to reach Lucerne, Zurich, Schwyz etc. You can also take the bus up to Unter- and Oberägeri, with a smaller, but very attractive lake, and lovely views over Lake Zug on the way.

Zug is a very cosmopolitan town between Zurich and Luzern, basically a business town but with a lovely old town and beautiful lake, If you have the time, visit Rigi mountain, with spectacular views or take a ferry round the lake and have lunch on the boat. In winter, take in an ice hokey game or ice skate on the rink outside.

I recently stayed for one night at Dialoghotel Eckstein, and found it to be a good, comfortable and clean hotel. The room was well-maintained and equipped with the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious enough for my needs. The bathroom was clean and had necessary toiletries. The location of the hotel was convenient. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I would recommend 👍🏻

Very central location in Zug. The area was very safe and clean and a 5 minute walk to the train station. Ten minute walk to the water and old town. Lots of beautiful outdoor spaces. The apartment is laid out in such a way that you don’t see anyone else, even on the terraces. Much more spacious than I expected as well and comfortable beds. It is the owners vacation home which means it is stocked with everything essential and some love!

This is a typical Ibis, the McDonalds of the hotel world, you always know what to expect which is why I chose it. The highlights of this one is super-friendly personnel, comfy beds, great location right in front of the railway station. The breakfast was not the most impressive I had ever had in my life but still very good. I particularly liked the sparkling mineral water, give it a try :)

We had a beatiful and pleasant stay at hotel Lowen. The room had a romantic view to the lake, it was big enough, the beds vere comfy (although it wasn't a proper double bed, just two twin beds adjanced to each other). The staff was super helpful and friendly. Breakfest was delicious, and we got freshly cooked eggs (made to our liking) and cooffee (whatever we asked for).

A truly delightful experience in a magical location, the hotel has been painstakingly restored in exquisite detail and is an absolute triumph. The owner couldn’t be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble and his Italian heritage reflected in his very personable service. A genuinely pleasurable experience that I very much look forward to repeating, bravo! ❤️

The singular best part of the Zugertor was the staff. All were extremely friendly and professional. They even assisted both my wife and I with our poor German language skills. In addition the room was quiet, the shower was excellent, and the air conditioner was great.
