Breakfast, location, staff. We cannot fault the Hotel Cristal.
Located in Grimentz, Hôtel Mélèze B & B provides 3-star accommodations with private balconies. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace.
This was a one-night stay in what could be termed as a mountain refuge rather than a hotel. Well organised, with good facilities. Pleasant room; separate, communal shower room. Services (food and drinks; self-service) close at 5 pm in low season. Friendly staff: the very helpful and smiling young lady in charge of the establishment briefed us on modalities and arrangements. Evening dinner (to be heated in microwave) and breakfast were good. Lovely terrace with beautiful view on the mountains and valley.
The fact that the hotel was actually open was a first good point, when most places were closed because of the health situation. It was very well located for our hiking purposes, and run by a friendly and helpful manager. We had a good room with balcony overlooking the splendid valley of Anniviers, and were served an excellent dinner (demi-pension) and good breakfast.
The view is fantastic! It is a 15 minute steep walk from the top of the furnicular, so you are really up in the high mountains (without a lot of effort to get there!). They recently renovated an old hut, so all is new and fresh. All the rooms are bunkbeds. The food is great! Staff are all very nice. You can do some nice walks from the hotel.
Staff were incredibly helpful, room was basic but very clean and comfortable. Tea making facillities in the room. En suite with a powerful shower and clean towels provided.
Food was good, very big portions. Wifi covered all the hotel area with great speed.
Bed was very comfy and the room stayed warm.

Lovely hotel and wonderful staff, particularly in the restaurant. Don't normally stay at places this nice or expensive, but when they're this welcoming, I can see why people do .
Group on a hiking trip - hotel is a bit expensive but nice to experience the old world charm. Very friendly staff, good food and lovely location to relax for an afternoon.
A simple complimentary breakfast and a quiet, clean room with a nice view of the mountains. Truly enjoyed my stay with helpful staff at the hotel and restaurant.
