A small, quiet alpine village.
A small, quiet alpine village. It is an deal base for visiting the Charles Kuonen bridge, currently the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. A circular hiking route begins near the church. It's is also convenient for visiting car-free Zermatt with its beautiful views of the Matterhorn. Great base to make the hike to the suspension bridge. Town is very quiet so not good for those looking for shopping and other activities but a very nice place for a quiet stay. Short, twice-hourly train to Zermatt, that is fairly expensive.

A cozy village, cheaper than the near the resort of Zermatt.
A cozy village, cheaper than the near the resort of Zermatt. Much more genuine than the flashy resort of Zermatt, the village is lacking in supermarkets, restaurants and bars, but offers a calm, quiet atmosphere while still being 10 minutes away from the buzz of the big resort. The hike to visit the longest suspension bridge in the world is great - don't miss it.

The hotel is located in Randa, a cheap and well organised taxi service will bring you very close to the train station in Zermatt (the center is car free). We were very well served in the in-house restaurant. The antipasti plate was more than generous and the lasagna and gnocchis were excellent! There really is no need to book an overpriced accomodation in Zermatt when you can stay in feel-at-home B&B Matterhorn! Thanks for the good time :)

We were upgraded for free to the two-bedroom apartment on the top floor which was a really nice gesture. The apartment was very spacious, clean & comfortable. The owner of the hotel is the loveliest person ever and we very much appreciated his attention, care & kindness towards us. There is also a little shop on the property where you can purchase food for your hiking needs.RoDenmark

The apartment is located at a 5 mins walk from Randa station and it is quite easy to find the apartment. On arrival, our apartment was clean and tidy and the heaters were set at an optimal temperature. The hosts (Family Brantschen) are super friendly. The property is fully furnished and one can find everything in the apartment that is required for a comfortable stay.

The host was kind enough to let us store our luggage the next day so that we could do the hike. Our room had the view of the snow-capped mountains and the size was perfect for 4 people. It was also very clean.
