We stayed in Orsières as an alternative to Champex (on the TMB) because it was a Swiss National Holiday and everything was sold out in Champex. We didn't explore Orsières but took a bus up to Champex and enjoyed our day there.
We stayed at La Catogne after planning last minute to do some skiing in Verbier. La Catogne was a short drive away from the La Chable list, which is very convenient.
The hotel rooms are simple but comfortable. The staff is very nice. The restaurant was a winner. We had originally only planned to eat there our first night but the food and service were excellent, so we ate their both nights. It is a bit off the beaten path, but made a great home base for Verbier skiing.
Nice, well located family run hotel. Very engaging staff who were always very helpful in an extremely busy and locally popular spot. Can't fault the facilities in any way. The restaurant was busy but the food was well presented and tasty. Breakfast was very adequate, and as the name suggests, is situated right by the railway terminus. We would certainly stay again.
We enjoyed our stay in Orsières. The hotel is right next to the train station. Plenty of parking at the hotel or up by the train station. The breakfast was great and the room was perfect for our family of 5. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We also ate dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was very good. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
The hotel gives a Swiss Historic Hotels feel with its location and appearance outside. The room was in decent size with basic facilities. It was clean and well arranged. The restaurant is on the ground floor and is open to the public which makes the guests mingle with the locals which we found very exciting.
Everything was perfect. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is quite old, but is taken care of very well. Due to its age and style, it has Wes Anderson vibes.
The breakfast was simple but very tasty and served exceptionally well. The host is very pleasant and kind.
Great hotel in a gorgeous little town, made perfect by the owner. He knows (and loves) the area very well, gave some excellent tips on where to go and what to see, and it was a pleasure having a chat with him at the end of the day over a beer. Wish I could have stayed longer!
The staff was wonderful I can not say enough about the staff in the hotel and restaurant the were very kind and professional. The hotel was nice and the restaurant and food was fantastic. Would stay again and recommend others to stay!!
The stuff was more than kind, hotel situated in an incredible site, my window literally opens over the river, super extra clean, smelling the detergent on my sheets, warm, Cosy, great breakfast!
the staff was very helpful and we were able to leave our luggage there before check in time. it was very, very clean and the hotel restaurant downstairs was great with kind staff
Well located, with a range of useful services available at the hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful!
Room comfortable and restaurant at the hotel highly recommended.
Hotel is in a good location in Orsières. I had the triple room for myself as it was the last room available, so I had a lot of space. The staff has been friendly.
This is a very friendly family-run hotel. The room and hotel generally are relatively basic. Good breakfast in the morning. Good value and very friendly owner.
