All hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a room upgrade to a room with full lake view. Breakfast is super. We had twice lunch in Bistrot Gaston. Their "plat du jour" was delicious while enjoying the lake view. The "older" waiter was a very welcoming and friendly person. The hotel itself is a bit older but all facilities were 100% clean and still very much OK. We enjoyed our stay in Montreux and would definitely go back to this hotel.

Surrounded by Lake Geneva and glorious Alpine peaks, tranquil Montreux has enchanted artistes through the ages. Lord Byron was so inspired by the style and setting of waterfront Château de Chillon that he wrote a poem about it. Nowadays it is one of Switzerland’s most popular attractions.

Queen fans flock here for the annual Memorial Day, just one musical festival hosted by this town. The most famous is the 2-week Montreux Jazz Festival, held in the Music & Convention Centre.
On the opposite side of town is Audiorama (the Swiss National Audiovisual Museum), near a funicular railway which climbs the hill. Further up the slopes is the family-friendly Rochers-de-Naye ski area, while the Les Pléiades pistes overlook neighbouring Vevey. Down at the quayside wooden chalets house stalls of the annual Christmas market.
Summer activities include boat trips, hiking and the Montreux-Oberland-Bernois narrow gauge railway whose trains allow you to really savour the views…and a nice cup of coffee.

It's a wonderful small town on the bord of Geneva lake where you can find peace, quiet, meditate and reflect as you wish to find your inner self. It's different from other swiss cities and once you were here might understand why Freddie loved it so much.

Montreux is a wonderful region that one can spend 3-4 days in easily. The lake side views are phenomenal. One can choose from multiple options such as visit vineyards around Vevey, take a train ride from Vevey to Laussane (regional one not the fast trains), explore Chillon castle, do a trip on golden express or glacier express, take a trip to Roches de Nayers and just relax and enjoy scenic beauty of the region. Highly recommended

Montreux is a wonderful location to spend your holiday.
Montreux is a wonderful location to spend your holiday. It has many restaurants to dine at. The view of the lake is stunning. There is plenty of public transport, and with free passes you can travel all around the town. And also there are a couple of free train journeys for you to travel up the mountain side. And should you feel lucky, you can try your luck at the Casino which is just across the road from the Hotel.

Two night/three days in Montreux barely scratched the surface of all the things to see and do. The charm, the location, culture and sheer beauty, especially along the lakefront captured my heart. May it capture yours, too!

Wonderful place.
Wonderful place. The city is confined in a narrow region between the lake and steep mountain, but still well organized without mess. There are several parking buildings which was ok during the jazz fest in September. So many wonderful places to visit if you take mountain trains from Montreux.
We loved the hotel, its position and charm. The garden was beautiful and the interior was classy with relaxing music, fresh flowers and a quiet elegance. The room was well equipped with a wonderful view. Check in/ check out was smooth and we had a warm welcome. We thought the continental breakfast was good quality with reasonable choice and a good ambience. The small town and lakeside setting is stunning. There are easy access routes to Montreux, including regular buses and the promenade walk is wonderful.
The host, Thomas, was really nice guy. He volunteered some advices how to get around Montreux interesting places, including the seasonal Xmas market. He was really friendly to accomodate our needs and provided assistance to carry our luggages. The B&B were spacious and have dining areas at 2nd and 3rd floor respectively. There are amenities for guests to prepare their own meals. I like the breakfast. The varieties could compete with some hotels, honestly. Definitely a good place to stay.
Delightful stay in an idyllic location - the hotel is an absolute gem of a property, and the restaurant provided a fantastic dinner quite late on our arrival evening. Although the tickets aren't cheap, the hotel is right next to the funiculaire which takes you right up to the top of the mountains at 2,000m, with some unforgettable sights (and option to walk back down). Will definitely be back on our next trip to Switzerland!
The hotel is located in the centre of Montreux in the first line of the slake coast. Room was in good standard and clean, but form the street side so it was relatively noisy. Restaurant and breakfast with plenty of choice. In front of the hotel, places to sit, relax. The reception helpful, as part of the stay you get a free ticket to travel with the public transport and some discounts for local attractions.
My favorite hotel on our 3 week trip this summer! The staff that work there go above and beyond in every way imaginable! I absolutely adored the staff at this hotel! Beautiful hotel right on the lake with breathtaking views! I absolutely loved this hotel and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the PERFECT hotel in Montreux! Exceptional experience!!! We miss it and the people that work there!
The hotel is about 10mns walk away from the main station, and only 2-3mns away from the Montreux riviera walk. There's a bus stop right next to it with multiple bus lines.
Room was bigger than expected, and the bathroom too. Clean. Lots of towels provided. Comfortable large bed. Cozy balcony with a limited but nice view of the lake and mountains. Safe & fridge are available.
Hotel Parc & Lac boasts a commendable location, offering close proximity to the serene Montreux lake - a definite highlight. The rooms were big (at least the ones we had) However, beyond its prime location, there's a noticeable lack of standout features or amenities. Future guests should set their expectations accordingly.
the hotel is within walking distance to the train station and in a clean room condition. The staff is very helpful giving us flexibility for luggage storage and check-in/out process. The staff also offers advise for our hiking for the day. Would definitely recommend it for a comfortable and value worth stay at Montreux.
The location is fabulous. The hotel is really charming, you can really appreciate the history that surrounds it. We where there for the Montreux festival, which meant music and people until late but the hotel was both close to the action and away from the noise at the same time. Highly recommend it.
The location (to the train station and the lake) are amazing - you are half a block if that from each. Great for the Xmas markets! The apartment is grand and has many beautiful features with wonderful linens and pillows and all the comforts of a 5 star hotel. I loved the views directly onto the lake.
A front desk representatives are very professional. The location is excellent (near train station). Every room has a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. Our room was small but enough space to have a good rest after days full of activities. We love Montreux!
Hotel du Lac was our base as we came and went from Montreux, staying a total of 5 nights. Tomas was always available to provide for our needs, answer questions and park our bikes. A bonus -There is a washing machine and dryer available to use.
Great room on 5th floor with balcony and wonderful view, comfortable bed and shower, very responsive staff and tasty breakfast. Great location if arriving by train - hotel front door accessible from train platform #1!
The best 4 star hotel I had in Switzerland. It is very quiet, has the perfect view towards the lake. The foto was take from the balcony of my hotel room. I can only recommend.
The view from our rooms was abolutely stunnig. The hotel lobby and terrace are also amazing. It is a very classic old style hotel perfectly situated to explore Montreux.
Montreux is a beautiful city. The location of the hotel is right outside a bus stop so convenient to travel. You can use the facilities at the hotel across the road.
Their restaurant next door to the hotel was great! Wonderful location. Breakfast for $14 was great with a good variety. Walking distance to the train station.
