The property was absolutely beautiful! My husband and I kept saying "this isn't real" because of how amazing the views were. We woke up each morning to the sounds of goat/sheep bells and the rushing water from a river right outside our window.

The view was amazing. Literally on top of the lake. It was SO quiet. Very relaxing. The room was very modern and the AC worked great. We ended up finding a nice little bar down the street to have a couple beers.

Breathtaking view…… And the hotel had concentrated on small details like putting a mesh for the windows to keep flies and mosquitoes away. Comfortable double bed. Easy and free vehicle parking.

Long narrow drive up to Isenthal, not for the faint hearted.

Long narrow drive up to Isenthal, not for the faint hearted. Basic accommodation with friendly staff and excellent location with mountain views. If you don't like pork your out of luck as the restaurant only served various tasty dishes of pork.

Its a nice village in the swiss mountains.

Its a nice village in the swiss mountains. The drive up the mountain is an experience on its own (check the times the bus drives up the mountain on the signs before you drive up the road. We had to drive backwards up the mountain for half a km.) There isnt much to do in the village itself, but the surroundings are beautiful.

We made an unplanned stop at Isenthal wanting to experience a swiss mountain town. Were we impressed! The place and the hotel were fantastic. The owner Rudy was extremely helpful and pleasant. Laura who served us was also very good. We had a great time, hiking, enjoying the beauty of the mountains and views of the lake after a great hike. I would recommend the place and hotel very highly.

I liked everything!!!! What a fantastic find with such friendly hosts - we were hit on arrival and a beer was offered before we’d even got our key. We arrived on two motorbikes and we were offered covered storage for them too. Good food in the restaurant too - fantastic goulash. A 0.5L of Radler with dinner, followed by a walk in the surrounding countryside and down to the local town - you really couldn’t ask for a better hotel. I’d ride all the way to this hotel from the UK anytime. A great breakfast and fantastic value for money.

Climb a narrow winding road to this quaint, non-touristy town. Wonderful hikes and views, comfortable beds and a very good shower. Décor definitely outdated but very well kept. Boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, fruit and bread for breakfast. Also ate at the on-site restaurant which was good! Would’ve liked a little fridge and a kettle in the room to allow a little self-sufficiency. Very friendly owner. Definitely recommend, but park your car and hike or ride bike!

The location was wonderful and I would go there again anytime with one exception: to stay more than just a day because there are a lot of places to visit in the mountains (and also a perfect place to take a bath in the beautiful lake near Isenthal)! Very good food, very good services and the hosts were very welcoming! It was a true experience and i recommend it with the bottom of my heart!

Amazing views around. There is a river just next to the hotel and we were worried about the noise but we actually had the best sleep during our 2-week trip! There is a nice terrace in front and we could have our breakfast there. The restaurant serves local food with a good portion. ;-)

The accommodation, location and host were absolutely fabulous, Isenthal is such an amazing place to visit and stay and I would highly recommend. The road up to the village is fine as long as you take note of the bus times which are posted at the bottom and top of the climb.

The hotel is a traditional Swiss chalet in a pretty mountain village, ideal for our overnight stay on the way to the Italian Lakes. The host, Rudi, played his accordion and served us traditional Swiss mountain fare. A very enjoyable stay, despite our limited German!
