Typically Swiss, Interlaken has an incredible location: on the Aar River linking nearby Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and in the shade of magnificent Alpine mountains including famous Jungfrau. The wonderful views are seen flying into Interlaken Airport.
The lakes are great spots for sailing, swimming or simply having a picnic along the peaceful shores. The area also has its fair share of high-adrenaline pursuits including bungee jumping, paragliding and river rafting.
In winter it’s all about the Interlaken skiing and snowboarding, with options including the fabulous Jungfrau Winter Sport Region and family-friendly areas with easy slopes. The Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn glacier is UNESCO World Heritage-listed, and the Jungfraujoch mountain railway takes you to the Top of Europe, the highest railway station in Europe. For a break from skiing, Europe’s longest toboggan run is a thrill a minute. Après-ski ranges from bars and discos to cosy restaurants serving specialities like fondue and raclette.
The town offers great views of the snowy peak of Jungfrau, best seen from Höheweg which also has a Japanese garden and lots of shops selling all things Swiss. Interlaken was our base as we explored other villages. This is one of the best place I enjoyed and will remember. Spectacular views, lots of shopping and restaurants. Very efficient mode of transport. Had a great time in Harder Kulm, did not disappoint Best spot in watching para gliders. Will definitely be back

Interlaken doesn't seem like a prime destination but more of a home base for other excursions or a stop between two destinations. It was easy to get around and there were plenty of shops and restaurants closely located to the hotels.

This is probably the most homey stay during my whole Switzerland trip (I visited Zurich, Interlaken, and Chur). I had a small dog (@ely_in_copenhagen )with me and she totally loved the room. There's a certain feel of vintage/family-oriented to the property as well. Location wise, it's a bit far from the popular attractions, but everything is reachable by bus, and the bus is free with the Interlaken guest card. While doing laundry, we even noticed how the host was preparing for next guest stay by full cleaning and ironing. Overall, it feels like we are staying home in Switzerland. Neuhausen Gold and Strandhotel had the opportunity to say no to our rescheduling, but did not and even had the flexibility to accommodate us an additional night!! Not only was that a huge relief, the staff, property and their resourcefulness was invaluable. Great location for visiting many stunning locations. Highly recommend.

It was a very cozy stay for me and my friends with a really nice view from all the windows. The kitchen/common area was also very convenient where we had free breakfast and dinner which we prepared on our own. Switzerland is quite expensive but being able to prepare our food and eat it together comfortably was a bonus for us. The accommodation itself is of great value of it's price point within the area.
