Engelberg is a cozy mountain town, entirely surrounded by mountain range. The view of the peaks is breathtaking! Town is quite small, but it has various food and beverage outlets and shops.
There are two areas for alpine ski, which cater to the different tastes. Also, cross-country skiing is rightly accessible from the city center and there is a sport center where skiers can take advantage of changing rooms and lockers. Ice skating ring is also available, along with other interesting activities offered by the ski school.
Buses work excellently so you would not need the car to move around.

Perfect central location for dining, shopping and access to lifts…
Steeped in history the Alp apartments , formerly a Farm house with adjacent barn retains its heritage appeal amongst the more recent modern apartment blocks..
Concierge service available via an app provided information on social events and ability to communicate through a direct message platform in case of any issues or additional requests.
A choice of room only for couples or larger self catering apartments means there’s options depending on size of your party.. Good value compared to other pricey offers or private apartments.

Whilst there’s plenty of choice for eating and drinking out, don’t overlook the Irish pub opposite apartments or the Ski lodge next to the railway station, both offer great food and can be quite lively with both locals and visitors.

Titlis is cold at the top even in Summer (just above freezing), so you need warmer clothes (can be rented at bottom of cable car). We were endlessly jostled by members of Indian coach parties on way up and down - pretty unpleasant. These considerations aside, incredible views to be had. Trubsee - the lake half-way up the mountain - is warm (in Summer), relaxed, with plenty of space: nice place to spend a few hours even if you don't stray too far from the lakeside (we have young children). Food in the town is ridiculously expensive (and we live in Switzerland)...just get your food from the coop and enjoy the mountains!

The town is small and beautifully located in the mountains.
The town is small and beautifully located in the mountains. With a well developed tourism both winter and summer, it’s easy to get around including reaching various mountains with 🚠 cable cars. It doesn’t really matter where you go or which mountain. Everything is absolutely stunning. Even just staying in the little town and watching the mountains with a cup of coffee in your hand would be worth going there.
Me and my family felt in love in Spannort and Engelberg. Localisation, inside climate hotel, staff (greetz for Frank) open kitchen, main hall, room for adults - place where you can really rest on comfortable sofa, listen to music from the piano, read a book and drink whatever you want. For Kids - playground room with toys, table football and for older PS4. I recommend it with a clear conscience ❤️
The hotel has a very nice atmosphere - a 19th century villa with big windows and a lot of lights, hard wood floors. It's conveniently located in Engelberg village. We haven't seen any staff, but everything was very smooth - the reception is unmanned, an envelope with a key was waiting for us when we arrived, the staff was responsive via messages. There is also a lovely kitchen for hotel guests.
This hotel was exceptional! We received an upgrade of our room and loved the facilities. The hotel and restaurant staff are super helpful and friendly. The breakfast was ample and delicious with a fantastic service. The hotel is very close to the train station and bus stop. We loved everything about our stay and felt like we were home the 5 days we spent there.
The hotel has a great location, just a short walk from the centre of Engleberg. When I arrived the lady at the reception was very friendly and welcoming. My room was clean and bed was comfortable and had great views of the town and surrounding mountains. Breakfast was excellent and superior to that in other hotels of a similar price in Switzerland.
it was really nice experience with everything Automated that helps to do the check in easily. Also, the facilities were really good with a play Room near the coffee area allowing us to relax while the kids play. Also, I had the pleasure to meet the owner of the hotel and he showed a full hospitality and we had a really nice chat.
Hotel Terrace is in an excellent location with the lift down right into the centre of Engelberg. Our room was a bit dated but perfectly clean, the hotel and staff were very nice and the breakfast was particularly great. The on-site sauna was closed but we could go to the Titlis resort and use their wellness area for free.
All people were very kind and very much helpful when we needed. Very good location for everything and nice view from the hotel room. This hotel breakfast was absolutely perfect!!
When we visit Engelberg agian, I can stay here once more.
P.s. we brought our small dog and this hotel is very friendly to the pet as well😄
This is a lovely small hotel with extremely helpful and lovely staff members, in a great location of Engelberg. The hotel is not big but it has all the necessary amenities like ski room and sauna, and most importantly, the best and most friendly and helpful staff! Highly recommended.
They offer a great choice of a buffet breakfast! The staff are extremely accommodating (especially in the restaurant) and the location is very close to the train station and the small town. Great for kids as there is a big playground right in front of the hotel.
It was a pleasure to stay at Alpenclub and I totally recommend it!! The staff is very friendly and kind, the hotel has a perfect location near both mountains plus the train station and the food was delicious!! We will certainly go back
Excellent location close to the center of Engelberg, but still in a quiet location on the mountainside. The hotel has its own restaurant, but it is still a peaceful place. Big parking lot. The hotel only has an open network.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. the location of the hotel is great with a fabulous view of Engelberg and easy access to the town park and main shops through a couple of lifts.
The hotel was less than a 5 min walk from the train station. The family room had two balconies, both with beautiful mountain views and we could hear the cowbells from our room.
