Beautiful Kloster (front currently undergoing renovations)...
Beautiful Kloster (front currently undergoing renovations) and the choir’s singing reminded me of Gregorian chanting. Didn’t do the forest walk as planned as both of us were down with the flu, but made for a nice weekend getaway. Will come back in the winter. Would highly recommend the food and service at La Fontanella.

Visiting the Black Madonna at Einsiedeln Abbey is one of my top lifetime experiences. There are wonderful at hiking trails around the Abbey from where you can see beautiful views of the grounds. Wonderful food in town and swimming in Lake Sihlsee in the summer is like a dream.

We came here a lot while living in Switzerland, and we come back for visits! The hiking trail is very nice, as is the town and it's shops. The Kloster is beautiful, and the playground is unique and fun - even for our bigger kids. In the winter, the Christmas Market is one of our favorites in the area.
The hotel is charming, well run and beautifully located. But the exceptional thing is the private art collection of the owner which adorns the walls and rooms of the hotel. Not only is it a beautiful collection by any standard, the owner is happy to give a tour and speak about the paintings and wood sculptures.. The restaurant is also very nice - old wood panelling - and the food is very good.
The breakfast was good but just not very much variety. Maybe a little skimpy on selections. The hotel was extremely nice to let us leave our bags for a couple of hours after checking out so we didn't have to lug them to the train station and put them in lockers while we finished our sightseeing.
Great location, very close to the Kloster and a short walk from the railway station. Friendly, helpful staff, fresh fruit and yummy biscuits on offer at reception. The bed mattress was the most comfortable hotel mattress I have slept on in years.
The Hotel is located very much in the center of the village, offers a car park and everything needed is in walking distance, the room I had was very comfortable, spacious and offered everything I needed, will surely book again
it is excellently situated in the center. very spacious room well adapted for wheel chair. Although there was an overbooking the hotel was able to find a suitable room which was actually better than the one we reserved.
A hotel with heart. Super comfortable and with a unique human vibe. They took care of us from the moment of the booking and made sure that our late arrival was easy and comfortable.
