A nice place for the travellers want to stay away from the busy cities like interlaken and Lucerne. Never the less well connected with both of places with a travel time of 30 minutes to 1 Hour by train. It’s must visit city alongwith the Rothorn Kulm. The lake is very nice and you can find food mart (COOP) very near to Brienz station along with local restaurants there.

Brienz is a small town on the shore of the Brienzersee that in October was a very beautiful and peaceful place to stay. It has a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The Rothornbahn will take you to the top of the Brienzer Rothorn with is fabulous views of the Alps. There are a lot of hiking trails that are easily accessible from Brienz. You can also take the boat across the lake to hike around Giessbach falls and enjoy the terrasse bar at the Grandhotel. We enjoyed eating at Tea Room Walz (which had a great vegan option) and Berghaus Planap (a bit of a hike). An outstanding selection of cheeses can be found at Chas Fritz. We also just enjoyed walking along the lake on the Brienzer Uferweg.

True gem of Switzerland.
True gem of Switzerland. A wonderful wood carving town by the lake side. Great food and culture here. Perfect place for walks. If you need to chill out without an agenda and do your own thing , this is a good option to explore. Safe to travel with loved ones. Locals are respectful and friendly. Also a good place to make a base and travel to other cantons of the country for day trips via ferry , train and bus (highly recommend taking a Swiss Pass) You can also take a dip in the lake and drink alpine water straight from the tap as the locals themselves do and recommend.

Amazingly beautiful - scenery is fantastic and swimming in the lake is wonderful (we visited in July so water was lovely and refreshing during the heatwave!). Plenty to see and do and train journeys are unbelievably scenic nearby

Brienz has the best of both worlds.
Brienz has the best of both worlds. On the one hand, it is a charming village with traditional buildings, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and with wonderful views over the Alps and the lake. On the other hand, it has shops and restaurants and it is served by frequent public transport, so you can use it as a base to explore the region, even if you don't have a car.
The hotel staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful. We appreciated very much eating dinner and breakfast by the lake both of which were excellent. The room was comfortable with a balcony with lake view. The hotel is very well situated near the older part of Brienz . In our four days we managed without the car and had a great time with steam trains, boat cruises, a bus ride to Ballenberg and exploring on foot.
absolutley wonderful location. the balcony had beautiful views and the lake is 1/2 minutes walk. we easily walked into the center if Brienz aswel to access boat and train station. the walk into the center was a joy. patrick was very helpful on the occasions we needed to contact him. the apartment had everything we needed to dine at home. the welcome gift was also very much appreciated!
Best hotel ever. Great location, amazing lake and mountain view. Parking is available. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Great balcony in the room to enjoy view. Coffee and tea was available in the room to enjoy balcony in the mornings/evenings. Small but enough breakfast with fresh products.
The room that I stayed in was much bigger than expected! The breakfast every morning was sooo nice, as a cheese lover I loved all the different kinds of cheeses we could choose from. I had a balcony which was very nice, looking out over the Brienz lake. A wonderful place, would stay here again if I'm in Brienz.
We stayed in a double room with a shared bathroom, and it was just fine. Location is exceptional - train and boat on Lake Brienz just footsteps away. Staff was very helpful and we were allowed to leave our luggage after checkout while we toured nearby. Breakfast was ample and good.
The view from the hotel is amazing. We have had a room with hotspot, it was very nice. The hotel has everything you want, a pool, a place for the kids to play. We stayed for 2 nights and received some discount for the brienz rothorn bahn amd a cruise on the brienzersee ❤️❤️
The location is just superb. It is by the Brienz lake side and the view from the window is mesmerizing. It has this rustic old world charm and feels amazing to include such a stay in our travel making it all the more cherishable.
Breakfast excellent. View best ever. Location is great with access to the ferry that takes you anywhere on Lake Brienz. Direct connection with mountain railcar to ferry, or a beautiful walk through the forest.
The hotel offers good value for the money. The scenery is also nice. A steam train passes by outside the window in the morning. You can see the lake just by opening the window. It was a very enjoyable trip.
Nice staff, perfect location and close to the train station and coop. The view of lake Brienz in front and the mountains around. Especially in the morning the view are stunning.
The bed was very comfortable, the view from the breakfast area was amazing, the cheese fondue delicious and the entire hotel is so uniquely and beautiful traditionally decorated.
Very clean. Quick check in. Small balcony with chairs and table and side view on the Brienz lake. Very nice buffet breakfast with a wide variety of sweet and savory food.
The location is quiet and nice not far from the picturesque Brienz. Modern building near the local small village, interesting concept of "museum" together with hotel.
