One of the best locations I've ever stayed! In the winter, the guesthouse is only accessible by train or ski lift/gondola, giving you a very remote feel. Ski-in-ski-out accommodations are perfect for skiers, and you can get all the way to the town of Andermatt on skis. The views from the double bed with private bathroom room are phenomenal. Great wifi, cozy rooms, and phenomenal dinners (additional charge) each night.

Breakfast was amazing!! The Chef makes her own yogurt and jellies/jams, applesauce- all delicious!! The staff were all super friendly. The owner stopped by our table every morning at breakfast to ask how we are doing. He is very gregarious and kind!

Andermatt is a cosy little ski town that is far from the party vibe of somewhere like Verbier. The benefit of that is it's not as busy and the prices are a little more "affordable" shall we say (keeping in mind it's still Switzerland!). While it feels much smaller its very easy to get to by train - the journey there is breathtaking! The little train that takes you directly from mid-mountain to the other resorts close by is brilliant as well. Only thing missing might be a bit more of an après-scene on the mountain I would say (if you're into that). Also should be noted they are building a huge new village next to the old village which will be awesome when it's complete. But until that point there are a few cranes and some drilling noises that may bother some people (didn't bother us!).

For the two days I was there, I loved Andermatt.
For the two days I was there, I loved Andermatt. It has a spectacular setting amongst stunning mountain scenery. I stayed in a lovely guesthouse (Zum Sternen) in the picturesque village centre with a beautiful Chapel just above the square and typical mountain river flowing nearby. Full of colour with local and Swiss national flags flying, and beautiful wooden buildings. I will definitely come again...and again.....

Andermatt is a beautiful little town with all the amenities you really need. A well-stocked grocery store and numerous shops, easy train and bus access, a free ski shuttle, rental shops for outdoor gear, hiking and biking trails galore, and spectacular mountain views. Everything seemed to be a 15-minute walk from everywhere, which was very convenient; plus making use of the free shuttle simplified walking times (bus drivers were very friendly and willing to stop and ask if we needed a ride). Everyone spoke English well, which simplified our travel experience. Switzerland is very expensive, and Andermatt is no exception; consider checking menu prices before committing to a week spent dining in restaurants (we had an apartment and cooked more than we dined out). We did have some spectacular traditional fondue at Hotel Sonne’s restaurant (in the downtown), which was a delight.

Andermatt is located in the very core of the Lepontine Alps, close to many passes and breathtaking mountain views. Either in Summer of winter, the town is plagued with amenities, activities and excursion courses. Restaurants and ok and always enjoying the Swiss traditional class. Swiss is expensive, but the trip worths every Franc. I will return thousand times. Switzerland is the only country where anyone may feel at home once you arrive.
Great location to visit Andermatt - a great stopover on the Glacier Express. Very clean, well-equipped room & bathroom. Fabulous breakfast. Incredibly friendly & helpful staff who allowed us early access to the room & an area to leave our bags after checkout.
The hotel restaurant is a real hidden gem - we hadn’t realised it was such a highly rated place until we reserved a table. Amazing food.
Outside bar seating catches the evening beautifully!

This is a superb hotel in the heart of Andermatt, the location is central making everything at a reasonable walking distance.
Rooms are spacious and beautiful (high wooden ceiling) and the view from the balcony is simply stunning.
Hotel restaurant is pretty good, we had a pleasant dinner and an excellent breakfast the next day.
Overall, we had an excellent stay and we would be happy to be back.
Lovely traditional cosy chalet-type hotel right in the heart of town. Excellent showers and warm rooms. Both ski lifts were walkable and also served by a bus that stopped right outside the hotel. The owner and staff couldn't have been more helpful and the cosy restaurant was perfect for nights when all you wanted to do was wander downstairs for a meal.
Charming place in the heart of Andermatt within easy walking distance to the ski lifts, restaurants, shops, etc. The host was extremely nice and welcoming. Very homey, yummy breakfast, parking in a garage included, ski storage area, cute and clean. Would 100% stay again!
Andermatt Alpine Apartments didn't disappoint, as always. Check-in was fast and friendly, there was a parking spot in the underground garage next to the building entrance. The suite was spacious, airy and nicely furnished. Everything was in a perfect running order.
Nice little older hotel with a beautiful view of the valley on the edge of town. Very friendly owner, who seemed to be doing everything herself. Excellent breakfast. Comfy room. Incredible roof terrace with a view - nice for a sit in the evening.
My family and I enjoyed the restaurant and the bar. The hotel is very nice and we enjoyed walking around the area surrounding the hotel. We were amazed at how tight the valley felt compared to some of the other swiss valleys we visited.
Location was easy walk to ski rentals and slopes. They have reserved parking but a short walk away. Easy to check in and staff friendly and helpful. Room was a good size for two and a good shower
The hotel felt new and everything was top quality. The rooms were large and well appointed. Breakfast was great,in a nice area of the hotel and the food choices were comprehensive
I liked the breakfast. Was very well organized and very fresh. The hours were convenient too. Also enjoyed being able to use the ski room with heated boot dryers
