We were in Bodo for just two nights and didn't wish to rush around, so we enjoyed exploring the waterfront and harbour area, watching the boats and taking in some of the restaurants and bars there. We arrived by train and left by plane - it was just great to be able to walk to the airport, which is close to the centre of the town yet we weren't disturbed by any noise from it during our stay.

Bodø is a charming, very walkable city where lots has been done to make streets accessible for pedestrians and cyclists. The city center (~ from the inner harbor to around Bankgata) is small, with a nice mix of new and traditional architecture and building styles. The streets have trees and wide sidewalks. The main shopping street, Storgata, is very nice and has a wide variety of shops that culminate in the Glashuset interior shopping area with the Koch Shopping Center attached.
I can recommend Nyholmen fort as a nice picnic spot with great view of the city - it's easy to reach it by bicycle. Also recommend the Jektefartsmuseum, which is about 4 km away from the city center.
On my next visit, I would stay a day or so longer and maybe get a rental car one or two days, to be able to go to Kjerringøy. But would also rent a bike again, as well, since getting around Bodø on bike is super easy.

The city does not offer anything special to see/experience.
The city does not offer anything special to see/experience.
The seashore is packed with huge hotels and other building plus boats thus have to go out of the city to enjoy the senery.
I believe most of the visitors use Bodo as transfer point to Lofoten.
City is clean and has all the necessary services available. Airport just a few minutes from the center.

Such a wonderful place, we loved the area and the lack of commercialism. We enjoyed exploring the town and the aircraft museum. We hired a car and visited Mjelle Beach up the coast and the maelstrom which I would highly recommend.

Small, friendly city. Lots of places to eat and drink. Great natural attractions not too far away; like Saltstraumenbrua, with the fastest running water and whirlpools. Also, the Norwegian Avaition Musem in the noprth of the city is well worth a vist if you have an interest in aircraft and military history.

The aviation museum is very good with sections on military and civil aviation.
Bodo is a small place so we walked everywhere. Ther are Bird electric scooters and busses & taxis.
Pleasant clean place with posh hotels and nice waterfront and harbour.
We did come in late June and had great sunny weather: probably very different in the rain!
The food was really nice and a nice bonus to get evening meal too. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and big and clean, maybe slightly dated compared to more modern hotels but I found the bed extremely comfortable and slept the best I have in a long time. We had three dogs and didn’t feel like we were given a worse room due to that, in fact the room was really nice and large.
The rituals products always are nice in clarion hotels. We will definitely stay here again on a return trip.
This was a lovely place to stay after flying in. We walked from the airport, very doable walk with packs on. Easy to find, staff were so helpful, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. For us the best part was the AMAZING breakfast that was provided!! Sooo many food options, including some Norwegian things that I hadn’t had the chance to taste yet. We couldn’t get enough!! Thank you so much for the nice stay Scandic Bodo :)
Very friendly staff who prepared a to-go breakfast for us, as we had to check out very early the next morning. The hotel provides guests with waffles and soups in the evening for free in the small lounge area. Our room was fairly small, but comfortable and quiet. Nice location close to the commercial areas at the harbor in Bodo, and walkable to the airport in about 10-15 minutes.
Great location, place and owners. Unfortunately only crushed for the night in one of the worst winter storms past 30 years in North Norway and hence unable explore the surrounding of the accommodation. It was our 10th visit to Norway and again unable see Saltstraumen this time staying next to it b/o the weather., Would stay again and recommend to other.
Very smart hotel indeed. Self check-in machine available with instructions on what to do. Reached after the stipulated check in time so the main door was closed, but we managed to follow someone else in, otherwise we will need to call a local number to gain access into the hotel lobby. Room was clean and spacious!
Hostel is really clean, the kitchen has everything you need for living actually, not just for a couple of days. There is a big dining area with a living room with a sea view. Internet is really good (I could also do some work involving video calls). For the price you really get a great place to stay in Bodø!
Hotel is great..room was great, staff were great, the wife is in a wheelchair so had no problem with moving around..hotel put us close to the lift and emergency exit..room had disable facilities. We were only staying in Bodo for a few day and picked this hotel randomly..great decision.
Breakfast was great - the best we have seen in Norway and we have also stayed in other hotels which are in the same chain. Also location is very good - right next to the port, with street paid parking but there were places available, even right in front of the hotel.
Perfect location: very close to train station and Hurtigruten dock (walking distance) and at the same time in the downtown area. Friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, excellent breakfast buffet and good restaurant. We can recommend this hotel.
Incredibly friendly and helpful front desk guy. I travel constantly and I've not run into someone so professional, helpful, and good natured. The environment was cozy and personal, not like a large chain hotel. And the breakfast was amazing.
Nice modern hotel, good-sized rooms. Easy walk to and from bus stop to take the bus to and from the Bodo airport. Bodo is small, so everything is easily accessible from the hotel. Excellent stay to break the journey between Islo and Lofoten.
The hotel was in a perfect place to see something of the harbour. I even had the chance to see some northern lights out of the room. Amazing 😍
The room was very clean and staff was professional.
Breakfast was amazing.
Food. Dinners are nice and fika in the afternoon was amazing! I especially loved the lift - doors close immediately when you press the button of your floor. (Normally I am annoyed by slow lifts in hotels.)
Nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Nice room and bathroom with a nice view.
Hotel also has a bar where drinks are reasonably priced.
All in all it was a great stay.
