It is indeed a huge house with tons of things preserved from the good old days - that rural idyllic Sweden many are so found of. It is a pity that the farming part of this location is long a history, but one can vividly imagine how it used to be. It is a very conveniently located property in the heart of Smaland region.
You are basically in the middle of the forest (with quietness from man-made noises, with birds, berries, herbs and all the gifts of nature you can pick up and eat/cook/spice up your food), but can easily reach a real farm in Stubbhult and the similar small "hults" nearby easily by feet (even with younger kids (say 4-5 y.o.). There is a lake with convenient entry into the water where we swam within 1 km from the property. You won't meet other people often.
It was easy to make daily trips to Vimmerby, Vaestervik, Eksjo, etc with the car. Car is a must here.
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped to even cook pies (which I did).
The host lady with whom we spoke on the phone and through emails made a really nice impression.
