Vasteras is a midsize town on the shore of what to me seemed like large lake, later I realised it was see deep in the middle of Sweden with beautiful islands, deep forests around. The city center is small but nice.

Fifth city of Sweden, located at a big lake.
Fifth city of Sweden, located at a big lake. The city is not very big but has some nice park and canals.
There are two nice cosy recreation harbours with nice eateries like Argrill and Bryggans bar.
The Steamhotel is very impressive and very well renovated. It also has a sky bar with a great view. Sauna facilities could be used for non hotel guests as well.
Restaurant Limone is one of the best places to eat pasta’s, during lunch time prices are more attractive.
You can easily travel from Vasteras cs to arlanda airport by buss nettbuss or flixbus. To Stockholm a train is a better option.

I liked the lake.
I liked the lake. But there's also some historic buildings such as the cathedral. The free art and local museums are worth a visit Most of the tourist city is in walking distance. But there's not much nightlife. It's worth eating an evening meal at a lakeside cafe in good weather. Some good bars in the mediaeval quarter. Stalls in square sell delicious strawberries in season in
May.

Long walks by the lake and there are beaches for bathing. Also outdoor aquatic sports for more adventurous. Interesting art gallery and museum
While cathedral and surroundings are a must. Good cafes by the lake where you can get burgers pizzas salads at reasonable prices. Also try a boat trip to islands in lake. They weren't operating during my stay. Bus no 11 good one for getting to lake. Take it to terminus. Bus no 3 goes to and from airport.

Second time in Västerås. Spring is a great time to go.
Second time in Västerås. Spring is a great time to go. Restaurants are setting up patios, people are out and children setting out Easter decorations (April in 2019) food selections are hit and miss but some real good bistros and restaurants if you look. Can be a bit pricey. Easy access to other locations. About an hour from Stockholm by train.
A real good hotel in Vasteras. Very clean , comfortable rooms and clean toilets. The breakfast buffet was good with a spread of delicious food .Coffee was awesome. Very close to the train station and Vasteras Cathedral. Good shopping area and restaurants within 1 kilometre. Very kind and efficient staff. Right from the warm welcome extended by Michelle and Ebba to the goodbye and handing over keys to Tove, we enjoyed every minute of our stay!
The staff was very courteous and professional , location was absolutely perfect, the ambiance of the hotel, it was beautiful, full of culture, clean, relaxing ! Scooters outside of the hotel took us every where we wanted to go! Loved it! The breakfast buffet was wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay!
Hotel was located right in the shopping street opposite to Igor.. had easy access of shopping, plenty of options for walking, eating, etc..
Room was spacious for a single room, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was filling and had sufficient options.
Hostess was kind and friendly in welcoming.
What I liked particularly was how friendly the staff from the Best Western Esplanade hotel were. They were particularly nice. The caretakers were also helpful; they gave me a heads-up the following morning about them being about to close the breakfast within 10 min.
I really enjoyed the breakfast, evaluated both by its variety and also its quality.
The location of the hotel is a bit outside of the city centre, which for a cute little town like Västerås, however, means only a 10-minute walk to the centre.
They had very attitude when we asked for 5 more minutes and told us to literally go away”stick härifrån”. when we asked if the hotel was 4 stars the manager told us it was not with an attitude and shouted go out.
The location is good. You can walk to the city center, bus station, train station and pier in a couple of minutes. The personnel is really friendly and rooms are really comfortable and clean.
Clean, great location in the city centre- many amenities are walking distance , parking underground, supermarket is adjacent the hotel. There is beautiful view of the city on the rooftop.
The staff, really helpful
The distance from the hotel to the centre is about 20 minutes, so its close
The building might look sketchy and rundown but the apartement I got was okay
Great apartments to stay for the price. They have everything: comfortable rooms, fridge and kettle in each room, huge separate kitchen, laundry. All done with a good quality.
We liked a lot the big breakfast and how nice and comfy the room was. The location of the hotel is great, you are on step next to everything! The people were nice and smiley
Very good location close to the center, balcony overlooking a not too noisy street, coffee all day, good breakfast, storage space in the room, bathrom with bathtub
Spacious room, fridge and freezer in the room, access to a very spacious kitchen with everything you need for cooking
