Loved how easy the city was to navigate on foot and find...
Loved how easy the city was to navigate on foot and find your way from site to site. Handy signposts were great. I ate on the go - Subway & tried Sibylla for first time. Started off full of energy thanks to the solid breakfast provided all-inclusive at my hostel. Managed to squeeze in Umedalen Sculpture Park, Women's History Museum, Bildmuseet plus nearby giant clothespeg sculpture, Västerbotten Museum, Umeå City Church and the local cinema in my 2 day stay. Not bad! Riverside walkway also made for a charming saunter beside the frozen river. Sadly no SSL/Allsvenskan innebandy matches played for me to attend while there and the Guitar Museum was closed but makes for great reasons to return :)

Umeå is nice city with beautiful river side city center. Everything is at walking distance and there are many interesting shops and cafes at pedestrian zone. Umea is a wonderful nordic city with a small population.
Umea is a wonderful nordic city with a small population. The city is generally safe and the people are generally welcoming and willing to assist especially when visitors seem lost. The cost of living seems to be high compared to other places but this is understandable given the high incomes and standard of living in Sweden. The free breakfast in the morning had really convenient times for breakfast, I even was able to go a bit earlier due to an early train and the breakfast buffet itself was insane. The hotel is super clean, the staff extremely kind and helpful, the price is very honest for the offered service. I travelled with my three children and I was worried of the shared bathroom, but in the end it turned out to be an advantage since we could have a shower in parallel, saving a lot time!

The location was perfect for us close to the river, the Umeå Institute of Design and the Vasaplan central bus station. The shared shower and toilets were clean. I liked the breakfast, but it was quite crowded, so it felt a bit anxious. Great breakfast, but recommended to get early to it, towards the end there were not everything of the buffet. The place was from a walking distance from the Umeå centrum.

Included breakfast was pretty standard and nothing to complain about. Nice with the local newspaper available. Check in late is easy with a code box. Only 100 meters from skiing tracks and of course running in summer. Have stayed more central before but will definitely return to this hotel.
