Breakfast was excellent and we could create variety each day from the buffet style service. The dinner meals met all standards for fine dining, with very good service. The rooms were in an "annex" type building, They were very comfortable with understated but very scandinavian colors and lines.

Such a beautiful property with walking trails, forest, and country roads and super cozy hytta with everything you need. The hosts were so kind and accommodating and even drove me to the bus stop as I did not have a car. Would come stay again if I am ever in this area.

Lovely Swedish house in the woods, peace and quiet place for slow-life holidays. We had a great white christmas stay for our family of 5. A little surprice with the water quality in the tap, would be great to know to buy drinking water in advance. The house has everything you need and more. The host was responsive and very helpful, we got all extras we asked for and very flexible with check-in/check out.KamilaDenmark - 10Scored 10
Very rural and quiet area, nice small town, lovely villages...
Very rural and quiet area, nice small town, lovely villages around. Good access, excellent roads. Commuter rail running frequently from Karlstad. A lot of moose and deer in the deep forests around. Try the small forest gravel roads (mostly very good) to discover them but be aware on main roads as well. "Älgs" are very big, we saw a lot beside roads (especially near Norwegian borders). A lot of lakes with swimming possibilities in summer, signed beaches. Got in Oktober suddenly the first snow after warm days. Autumn is very beautiful. It is an area for nature lovers, nothing for party scene, even you find some restaurants and shopping centers. Keep the speed limit (always signed) in mind, a lot of automatic speed cameras - high fines.

Torsby has everything you need unless you are a party animal then maybe it's not for you. Plenty of food options , places for a beer and supermarkets. Also a mix of clothes stores and 2and hand shops.

We had to drive early the next morning at 5 and then couldn't manage to eat breakfast so they were kind enough to put a cool bag outside our door with lots of breakfast for the trip, sandwiches, eggs, juice, chocolate and fruit. The barn is converted to a cozy restaurant and the hotel part is newly erected building but in traditional style. When I was there there, a painting course was ongoing and there is a gallery and plenty of art work. It is surrounded by cultivated fields and it overlooks a small lake where you can also swim.ThorkildNorway
