The location is perfect and hosts are excellent, very helpful .It´s the best place if you want to be close to the nature and relax. It´s a feeling of being in a Swedish home and kind of nice to have experience living in a 18th century built house. The lake , motor boat , canoeing, hot tub and sauna are enjoyable .Plus we heard the Kulning - Ancient Swedish herdingcall - performed at the place , I love it.Rättbik is not far to visit , so pretty and as well as Falun. The forest is amazing , we would love to come back , what we payed is so worth it.

Nice small town at the lake. Good beach with shallow water.
Nice small town at the lake. Good beach with shallow water. You can hike, swim, paddle...Good store with a wide range of regional products. Nice restaurants and cafés - the Green Café at the station also has a local arts exhibition. Easy to reach from Stockholm and to discover the area by public transport, train or bus. For example, Mora with its Anders Zorn museum, Nusnäs with the dala horse production, or the shop of the traditional weavery at Insjön.

It is a small town next to a lake - it has a very vacation feel and almost feels like a beach resort. There’s a lot of hiking and nature activities to do and it the perfect town to experience traditional Sweden: we were here for the Midsummer celebrations and it was unforgettable! It seems it also has an incredible number of gorgeous traditional Swedish red cottages - postcard-picture perfect! It is a bit quiet, though, and without a car it is fairly difficult to get around.
It is a wonderful place to stay , there is a car parking next to the cabin/cottage. Feels like home stay with spacious room area, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and toilet. I was bit worried about the heaters as it was mid winter, but we did not face problems, it was quite comfortable. Especially with kids its a perfect place to stay. I really wish i could have stayed for a long time. Next time for sure will do.
The owners are the two kindest souls I have ever come across. They pour their heart into their hostel and looking after those staying there.
I could see the beautiful lake from my window and the room was quite old but kept extremely well and clean.
The kitchen is also extremely clean and very well equipped.
The bus stop for Dalhalla is about 2min walk away, you can see it from hostel's windows.
An incredibly nice and friendly hostess who helped us with all of our questions. A very nice view to the Siljian lake and the beautiful Vikarbyn village. A cosy room with the most comfortable bed. A very relaxing shared terrace where you could sit and enjoy the view for hours. And everything was sparkly clean. Honestly we couldn't have asked for more. We will be definitely staying there again.
I like everything about this hotel starting from Lena welcome and adjusting things as per our need. She helped a lot Many Thanks to her.
Hotel is well located and facilities were awesome. We didn't feel any gap and further need of facility/things which a Traveller needs during visit.
Maddy (at reception) was very helpful during our stay.
Well done Kullan team and keep it up :)
We wanted to stay in the town of Rattvik and this seemed like a good choice for our party of 4. We are well past the youth hostel stage in our traveling, but our quad room was perfect for our one night stay. There were many Swedish families and adults staying there and the experience was way better than we feared from a "hostel". Highly recommend it.
Cosiness of it all, was amazing. We stayed during winter in house 42 and from that house you have 3 min walk to ski lift, and 15 min walk to Rättvik center. Customer service was amazing and responded fast with answers. I would recommend this place to anyone who looks for a quiet and cozy time with a partner. 10/10 We would come back again!
The diner that is attached to the hotel makes your stay worth it. What a great place. Skip all the mainstream fast food restaurants and have great American 50s dinner at this place. We arrived in the dark and left, so the surroundings (which is not that great) did not bother us. In terms of location the hotel is well located.
Clean, comfortable stay a short car-ride away from Rättvik Centre. Good breakfast. Exceptionally good value for the price. We stayed here to do the “vasaloppet 30 / kortvasan” and it was very easy to drive to Mora and take a bus from there to the start in Oxberg. Staff was flexible to provide us with an easy breakfast.
Marie is a lovely and caring host. Best breakfast we had in Sweden. All our wished were cared for (doing telephone calls for us, letting us do some washing). Room with a wonderful view. Relaxing and comfortable common rooms including a kitchen for use of the guests. Everything clean and tidy.
Great location overlooking the lake and pretty close to Rattvik. Cozy cabin was very clean and had all the basic amenities you would want. Communication with the hosts was easy and quick. Cleaning wasn't included but we were able to arrange for it for a reasonable price.
Absolutely outstanding in every way. The location, the staff, the facilities… you name it, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The breakfast was wonderful, with some of the best scrambled eggs we’ve had. I highly recommend this hotel!
There was a great variety of fresh foods for breakfast, in a beautiful homey dining area. The house we stated in was quite spacious, decorated with beautiful antique furniture.
Enjoying comfortable and tranquillity of Rättvik. The hotel is opposite to wooden boardwalk and train station overseeing the lake. Breakfast in Diner45 is the cherry on top.
