Great breakfast options, clean rooms and bathrooms
I liked the location. The staff were friendly. The photos on booking.com suggested something that wasn't really there. I can't remember exactly what was said at the check in but the check out was interesting. The reception desk was closed. We left the keys in the room. It was easy enough but unexpected and relied on us guessing the process.
The hotel was good, no complaints but as I said, not what I expected given the photos. Other times when I have stayed in old hotels, there is an element of the old-world charm and facilities. This was lacking but there was nothing really wrong with the hotel itself, it was simply my expectation based on what I saw in booking.com.

The town was quite cultural, with its huge and historically significant castle, and outdoor museum of wooden buildings - but the indoor museum is currently undergoing a year long refurbishment and so inaccessible. The town is also quite pretty, particularly along the river. For shoppers there is a good selection of stores, as well as cafes and restaurants. Like all of Sweden it will be found expensive by non Scandinavians. We arrived by rail, which is a good way to travel, though the station is a little way from the town centre.

Örebro is a charming little town that could easily be done in a day. There are at most three attractions to really see in the city. Nevertheless, if you want to get away from Stockholm or Uppsala, it is perfect. You will enjoy walking around the city and its parks.

Örebro is a very beautiful, nice and cosy city.
Örebro is a very beautiful, nice and cosy city. Just enjoyed walking for hours in it's streets and explore! There are a lot of attractions - impressive castle with great history and ducks enjoying tourists company, stunning gothic cathedral Olaus Petri kyrka with it's old graveyard, green Stadsparken (by Svarton river) full of flowers and lovely places to relax, Wadkoping Open Air Museum with it's atmospere of old days, lovely butics with souvenirs and coffe shops, famous water tower Svampen looks like a giant white mushroom, and just nice city streets with friendly people... whole lotta things to photograph!
Many local buses - around the city and the surrounding area - which are convenient to move around. Hemkop on Fredsgatan is good place to buy food; in Pressbyrån one can buy not only food and magazines, but bus tickets as well.
Absolutely great city to spend a week and relax! Got the best experiences and strong intention to come back next year!
Our stay in hotel Hjalmar was lovely! We arrived pretty late but the nice staff made sure that we have all the information and welcomed us very kindly. The breakfast was superb too, they even opened it 30 min earlier for us since we had an early morning. Our room was so spacious and comfy with everything we needed. And ofc, the location was just right - 2min away from the bus/train station and 2min away from the castle/center of the city. We stayed there for the first time, but it won't be the last.
I was abit skeptical after reading some reviews but the hotel was great! Big room with huge window looking out into the courtyard, Big TV, Good shower and very comfortable bed. 5 min walk to the castle and bars! The gentleman on reception was extremely friendly and helpful. Also let us keep our bags in the hotel the next day whilst we explore before our flight home. People also complained about the old school lift, i loved it ha!
I went for the visit with my husband and the hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful throughout my visit as i didnt know their language Swedish. They helped me in English and I was really satisfied with my stay there. The price was really cheap compared to other hotels in that area.
If I go back to that area, I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
Just next to the railway station, you will find this small hotel. After entering the hotel, you will never hear the trains again. From the hotel to the city centre is a 15 min walk, so also no problem. Very friendly personal, decend breakfast, parking either in front of the hotel (few places) or in the large parking house opposite the main road.
Rooms were very nice and comfortable. The front desk staff was kind and welcoming, and she provided a lot of advice for navigating the city.
Showers were nice, good pressure, and the rooms were relatively cool with the windows open. I was worried about the windows with being so close to the train station, but it was not an issue for me.
The staff. Man at the desk and woman at the bar went out of their way to be helpful. cleaning person very friendly
and room was spotlessly clean. Our base level room served us well for a one night stay. Great food store open till 11 right next door. Good breakfast with Covid-spaced tables.
lovely house restored by the owner in a beautiful garden. we received a warm welcome and we found all we needed for a rich breakfast. the center of Örebro, a nice town, is easy to reach as well as the nature reserves of the county
Lovely little hotel very much in the centre of town. The staff was very friendly and professional and the hotel parking was spacious and cheap. Breakfast was good and the decor inside the hotel was nice and cosy.
Great buffet breakfast and very friendly staff to deal with!
30 minute walk into the city center but a small fair to travel from the airport to the hotel
