Jokkmokk is one of the most special places I have been to.
Jokkmokk is one of the most special places I have been to. It is located just after the arctic circle, and has the midnight sun in summer. It is a very beautiful town, the lake is exceptionally beautiful and can be hiked around in a few routes. The Sami museum is an excellent, beatiful museum which provides a lot of information about the Sami culture and history. The botanic garden is also beautiful and informative. Everything in Jokkmokk is beautiful and everyone is nice, and it's a great pleasure just to walk around it.

Jokkmokk is situated just north of the Arctic Circle, and is rather a small town in a sparsely populated area. It is certainly pleasant enough, and has the air of cleanliness and prosperity.
The museum is certainly worth a visit, and concentrates on the Sami/Lapp culture of the area. Be prepared to spend at least a couple of hours there.
The countryside around is beautiful, low-lying, and with a large-ish river and a number of lakes.
Nice location, beutiful, very quiet and peaceful and Jokkmokk is easy to reach. The hosts were lovely, kind and so helpful. The house was spacious, though for five adults it would be too crowded. It didn't take long to heat the place as there was plenty of firewood but we had to go looking for where this was kept. A guide describing such necessities would be great. Heating solely by wood burning stove may sound romantic but in winter (October - May) has to be kept going continually. The cabin was light and well ventilated.
Peace and quiet is the perfect name for this hotel, we trully were alone surrounded by beautiful nature! The room is cosy, comfortable and very smartly designed. We had a wonderful time, cooked ourselves dinner enjoyed the sound of rain on the glass for a while and then were lucky to have a nothern lights show. They were reflecting on the water, dancing in the sky with no light pollution. Björn is a great host and he provided us a delicious local breakfast. We really recommend the place and would love to come back.
Everything about the property was amazing. Amalie was incredible in all the care she puts into being the owner. The breakfast she makes is the top breakfast I have EVER eaten at a hotel I stayed at. The room was clean. Shower was excellent.
There is a hot coffee or hot chocolate machine near the front desk that is for use all hours of the day.
If I was staying in Northern Sweden longer. Hotel Akerlund would be the place I would choose, Always.
I give this my vote for best Swedish Hotel.
The hut was very well equipped, the design was very clever and unique (especially the cooler that was built into the floor) . The bed was very comfortable and you could control the temperature of the hut . The host was super friendly and helpful, he went the extra mile to help me with activities around Jokkmokk and showed me the ice bath which was very close by. The breakfast was amazing, with local bread and jam which I loved
The vibe of the hotel makes you feel at home, the staff are very friendly - Annelie was a great host, always smiling !
Rooms were comfortable, Sauna was the best. Although it had breakfast included, there is a microwave in the hotel which was a plus to prepare for lunch or dinner. Lounge is a great place to meet new people and enjoy a movie on the big screen together ☺️
A beautiful house next to the lake on Jokkmokk. About 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of town and it's 2 supermarkets.
The house was very warm and cozy, and the view from the lounge, dining room, kitchen, and 1 bedroom over the lakeside was amazing.
Facilities were superb with enough cutlery, crockery, and pots and pans in the kitchen.
Great location, very nice accommodation and excellent hosts. Richard and Patricia went out of their way to help me feel welcome. This included dropping me at the local bus station in Jokkmokk, storing rental skis from nearby Laponia Adventures, and letting me stay in Reception after checking out. I look forward to returning in future.
Nice B&B located near the small centre of Jokkmokk. Ideal location. Super friendly staff. You feel at home, nice to meet other travellers from all over the world. Breakfast is nice and you also have the possibility to book a trip to the a higher point near Jokkmokk to try to see the Northern Light. Just new owners (2023)
