Abisko is a really beautiful place. We went there to see the Northern lights and we were not disappointed. We also joined a snowmobile trip near our accommodation and it was fun and adventurous to tour around while riding the snowmobile and see wonderful sceneries. There are some other activities that can be done in Abisko too. Loads of love from Malaysia.

Abisko is small and friendly with a significant international population during the tourist season. It was easy to reach by overnight sleeper train from Stockholm. There is plenty to do but most people were there to see the Northern Lights because of its reputation as one of the most spectacular and accessible places in the world to see them. The only place to buy food is the convenience store attached to the gas station but it has a good range, at the prices you would expect for such a remote place. We visited in a “heat wave” of -15C in December when the locals expected more like -25C. Most accommodation and activities rent or provide boots and clothing to help you cope!

We particularly liked the fact that Abisko is remote and unspoilt. The scenery and mountainous backdrop are breathtaking and to have been able to hike around the area was delightful.
Seeing the Northern Lights on our second night, facilitated by Alex, was a dream come true and furnished us with some amazing pictures to take home to those who didn’t believe we would see them.
We ate a good, reasonably priced meal at Abisko Turiststation and would have liked to have tried the food at The Mountain Lodge but it was shut which was a shame.
The supermarket nearby is well- stocked and comparatively reasonably priced for essentials such as milk and bread.
The village is easily navigated on foot and well-signposted.

The natural part is stunning. Both winter and summer periods are filled with activities. Winter is special for the northern lights and 24hours night while the summer is known for the midnight sun and the Kungsleden trail for hike.

It is honestly one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. We were staying there for several days, instead of just using it as a start of a long hike, were afraid that there is not going to be much to do. But there were enough short hikes and different views to keep us busy and in complete awe. Also, so many berries.

I was in a mixed dorm - which was clean and had enough space. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They could however store toilet papers in the bathrooms as they tend to run over before the maintenance breaks.
Food was ok not great and little option available for snacks. Esp since this is a cold place - warm snacks would be a god send - and that was not even an option here.
hotel well geared for the tourist season. Luckily we were out of the main season and it was not so busy. Room was small but adequate and unfortunately no view except of the next hostel building. But the view from the breakfast room was spectacular (if you got seats next to the window). Like the little shop where the coffee was very nice and refills were also available. The staff there were extra friendly.
Nice little cottage with everything you need. Underfloor heating is perfect after a cold day. Sauna is nearby (limited opening hours) and there is a large and cosy common room if you want to meet other travellers. Has an open field at 2 minutes walking which is a good and dark spot for the northern lights. A few nice walks can be done from the lodge, and you can walk to the starting point of Kungsleden.
Friendly staff, plenty of showers and bathrooms, with two kitchens and two communal areas. You can even choose to book activities directly here if you want to.
Another big plus is the fact that you can use the facilities after check-out if your train is in the evening.
A nice and comfortable stay, 10mn away from the lake and less than 1hr from the national park too. Definitely recommend!
It is a great spot with super nice views, we used it as our base to explore Abisko national park. The staff is really friendly and helpfull. Great food, both for breakfast, but also for dinner (you can check the menue on their homepage). Yes, the room does not have a TV....but trust me you don't need one with that nature:-) The helicopter base is in walking distance as well.
The location for Northern Lights tour & National Park. The reception staff were excellent and enjoyed a laugh. They dealt with our room change request very well. We had a late night noise issue that was unpredictable and we were very happy with their response.
It was a good place to stay when in Abisko. There is a short and beautiful walk to the National Park. It is also accessible from the train station by foot. The kitchen, a shared space, was well-equipped, kept clean, and spacious.
They made new additions to their accomodations. I stayed in the hut which is in the old train statation building. I think it is very nice. The kitchen is brand new. Probably the closest accomodation in abisko to the supermarket.
Location was within breathtaking nature and close to railway station. Breakfast was good. Staffs were nice and friendly. The Arora tour booked from the hotel gave a life-time experience. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Excellent hotel, excellent value, with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful rooms. I stayed three nights and had dinner each night at the hotel and breakfast each day (included in the hotel rate).
Cabin location over lake gave us a great view of the aurora from bedroom windows. Cozy places to sit while waiting several hours to check in and depart on night train. Nature museum in parking lot.
Welcoming and friendly staff, clean, well equipped kitchen, sauna in the evening was awesome and good to meet people, good location close to the train station and not too far from the national park
Everything! The staff was so friendly and helpful! We got to see the huskies, there was sauna every day, and it was very close to national park! Totally worth the money.
