Abisko is a really beautiful place. We went there to see the Northern lights and we were not disappointed. We also joined a snowmobile trip near our accommodation and it was fun and adventurous to tour around while riding the snowmobile and see wonderful sceneries. There are some other activities that can be done in Abisko too. Loads of love from Malaysia.

Abisko is small and friendly with a significant international population during the tourist season. It was easy to reach by overnight sleeper train from Stockholm. There is plenty to do but most people were there to see the Northern Lights because of its reputation as one of the most spectacular and accessible places in the world to see them. The only place to buy food is the convenience store attached to the gas station but it has a good range, at the prices you would expect for such a remote place. We visited in a “heat wave” of -15C in December when the locals expected more like -25C. Most accommodation and activities rent or provide boots and clothing to help you cope!

We particularly liked the fact that Abisko is remote and unspoilt. The scenery and mountainous backdrop are breathtaking and to have been able to hike around the area was delightful.
Seeing the Northern Lights on our second night, facilitated by Alex, was a dream come true and furnished us with some amazing pictures to take home to those who didn’t believe we would see them.
We ate a good, reasonably priced meal at Abisko Turiststation and would have liked to have tried the food at The Mountain Lodge but it was shut which was a shame.
The supermarket nearby is well- stocked and comparatively reasonably priced for essentials such as milk and bread.
The village is easily navigated on foot and well-signposted.

The natural part is stunning. Both winter and summer periods are filled with activities. Winter is special for the northern lights and 24hours night while the summer is known for the midnight sun and the Kungsleden trail for hike.

It is honestly one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. We were staying there for several days, instead of just using it as a start of a long hike, were afraid that there is not going to be much to do. But there were enough short hikes and different views to keep us busy and in complete awe. Also, so many berries.

I was in a mixed dorm - which was clean and had enough space. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They could however store toilet papers in the bathrooms as they tend to run over before the maintenance breaks.
Food was ok not great and little option available for snacks. Esp since this is a cold place - warm snacks would be a god send - and that was not even an option here.
It was super clean and there are so many toilets so never queue. Staff is so friendly and helpful. There is a luggage room to use after check out and they provide kitchen and toilet card after check out. By this way you can wait inside (this is perfect opportunity cuz train timetables change a lot). And 4 minutes by walking to the Abisko Östra. We also joined BBQ activities of guesthouse. It was perfect guides are funny and helpful all the time. And the tour is ended later than timetable cuz we were waiting Aurora and finally we catched!
The hostel was located in Abisko National Park. The only accommodation there. The nearest town, Abisko is about 2km from there, however there is shop that sells essential for our stay. Beds are comfortable, and rooms are clean, however you have to rent a bed linen and towel which are not in the price.
This is the first hostel that required guests to do self-housekeeping after check out but for me it's a good way to keep their price low. For hostel there is common kitchen that you can cook your meal while waiting for aurora,
The location - perfect, near the frozen lake, close to the grocery store and the bus station.
Very helpful staff, Lucas from reception - nice guy, gave us a lot of useful information!
We took aurora hunting tour + dinner. The guide was nice, the polish guy Alex! He drove us about 150km from Abisko to Narvik and back to hunt for auroras but unfortunately no luck that night. But the sami style dinner in the tent was cool, we ate reindeer meet with vegetables.
Would definitely return there but would choose a bigger room!
It are a Hostel and meal are not included on the price! But there are a well equipped kitchen with Fridge, oven, spots and all what You need! Only consumables need to be ordered By yourself but the shop are only 5-6 min walking away!
Experience with sharing the food with others are make You stay as in Your Home ....
There have also Sauna and beautiful terrace for sitting and discover Aurora's! For Sauna maybe need some additional request...
Abisko, net is a very good place to stay. Well located, with a very good price, gives a possibility to meet many interesting people. In Abisko ends a famous long-distance sweden trail, called "King's Trail" (Kungsleden) and many hikers who finish this track spend some time in this hostel. There is a free sauna for one hour every day. You will not find anything cheaper between Kiruna and border with Norway.
Great experience in Abisko. Great activities provided from guesthouse. Great location near lake which you can easily see Northern lights. Supermarket and a restaurant nearby.
It gives you the opportunity to stay and live the miracle to Abisko with reasonable amount of money.
we got offered an upgrade to one of the lodge due to issue with our booking. the restaurant serves amazing food, the best in abisko. walking distance from the starting point of many activities as well as from the helipad for aurora sighting.
Strategic location to explore Abisko National Park and is near to train station / bus station. Breakfast wise, not that fantastic, but with an amazing view. Friendly staffs at Abisko Restaurang Kungsleden. Dinner was pleasant with good wine.
Breakfast was good and location was good. Staff were helpful. The hostel was very nice and clean and we just booked a whole room for ourselves, was reasonable and was all they had at the time of booking.
This hotel is a gem! Perfect location for all activities in the Abisko region, super friendly staff, great breakfast, and last but not least superb dinner in the hotel's restaurant!
It is a very cozy guesthouse. Everything was clean, the staff was amazing as well.
Also the souvenir shop is lovely.
The location is very good- close to train station and shop.
