Kutchan is a lovely city with friendly locals and widespread English proficiency, making communication easy. There are plenty of options for renting or purchasing snowboard gear, which is convenient for enthusiasts. Overall, I will definitely return to Kutchan.
The food is exceptional. They have three restaurants in the hotel with only 18 rooms. The ingredients and the cooking is first class. The staff is the most welcoming staff we ever met in Japan - and that is something. The open Bath is just great. The water is original onsen water. Relaxing in the rotemburo watching the clouds on Mount Yotei is paramount. The design of the room is a fantastic mixture of Japanese tradition and modern architecture. The room, the equipment, the furniture- all fantastic.
I guess I didn’t read the description but it’s a really cool property, it’s an old school turned into a hostel. The owners were extremely nice and communicated everything well. There a bus stop for both directions at the entrance making it very accessible to either town. When I got hurt and had to go to the hospital the grandma at the property who used to be a nurse helped re bandage my ankle after the hospital didn’t do a good job and everyone checked on me every day. It was really sweet.
Danny was a great host. He welcomed us on a very snowy day and even helped us carry our big bags up the stairs to the room.
The property is new and very well maintained. The room, much to our surprise was quite spacious for Japanese standards! Even Danny had a laugh with us about it!
Convenience. Right next to a 7-Eleven. And also not far away from restaurants and supermarkets in Kutchan.
Excellent location. In the middle of the town, with good food options - both high end restaurants and casual food trucks - available nearby. The Family lift and Dot Base lifts were also within walking distance. All the staff were very friendly. Despite it being a low cost lodge, the attention to detail in the service was commendable : there was a
facilities were clean and location was close to a supermarket, lawson, daiso, and ramen restaurant. loved the free shuttles to and from hirafu, hanazono, and kutchan station. They also have free fans to use in case the room isn't cool enough for you. also a plus they have a restaurant inhouse for breakfast and dinner. Onsen is a super plus!
one of the most charming pensions in Niseko. Niseko has changed a lot over the years with high end luxury hotels which really don’t belong in this once sleepy snow town. this is a family ran ski lodge with the most care and hospitality offered to guests. i’ve found my accommodation in niseko after visiting niseko for 15 years.
Convenient location with the Hirafu free shuttle service one minute away. It was quick to walk into town or to the ski lifts. Apartment had enough utensils etc for our needs. Free washing machines and the dry room downstairs were handy. Warm and comfortable and the free transport for check in and check out was good.
We had the best room, on the 5th floor and in a corner. The room is equipped with a kitchen, which was very great because there aren’t many restaurants out there. We bought food from supermarket and this is the best way to enjoy food in this town. The restaurants are too bad and expensive for no reason…
Hotel has large open areas for foyer, dining and common room. Studio room bed was large and comfortable. Best feature was a large supermarket and excellent Ramen restaurant within walking distance - the walk made much longer by the heavy snow in the carparks but the snow was my raison d'etre!
Clean, great amenities, soaps smell so good. Very close to the gear rentals and bus going up to Hirafu. This is an unmanned hotel, instructions needs to be followed to ensure a smooth check-in. The staff can be contacted over the phone at the front desk and they use a translator.
It won’t be uncomfortable to use the shared bath room cause the whole hotel is super clean and tidy. Shuttle bus and buffet are really convenient for ski trip. The hotel provides the washing machine (coins needed) and large dry locker which could hold several snowboards.
Very Clean Modern Hotel. Staff are efficient and friendly. Storage lockers are excellent.
Excellent location to Aeon Big Value and 3 Ramen options. Even Niseko Pizza is in walking range.
Common lounge was great for multiple families staying together.
Our host Ryo was specially helpful, spoke excellent English and drove us to town twice on our brief visit. The place is clean & lovely, with an excellent kitchen and a little tatami area with iori in the common area.
Considering the high prices in Niseko, this was one of the cheaper options in Kutchan. Self check-in and check-out was a breeze. There are drying stations for your ski-gear along the corridors outside the rooms.
The accommodation was affordable and well located in Kutchan near convenient stores, eateries and roughly 10 to 20 min drive to various ski resorts. The room was nice and clean and well maintained as well.
