We had a wonderful stay and can’t say enough good things about the kind and friendly family who run it. The family style home cooking at the restaurant was very good and affordable for our winter budget trip. It was close enough to town to walk to the elevator which goes to the higher part of the city center….10 minute walk with two little kids was no problem.

An amazing small city located on a mountain.
An amazing small city located on a mountain. The city is separated into an older part and a more modern part which is located at the lowest part of the mountain. The city has a plethora of murals and street art and you can download a dedicated application where you can find where all the murals are located and have a self-tour. The old part of town has amazing buildings and you can get lost by walking in the small traditional streets. The restaurants are of high quality and all the food we tasted was simply amazing. Unfortunately when we were there for a 3 night stay the weather was poor on two of the days so I might say the stay was too long. Didn't visit the city at the base of the mountain. The village where the chalets are situated was very quiet with not much going on, we spent most of the spare time in the hotel which was nice.

The Pousada is perfect for a relaxing break. The views are incredible. The service is very good, made to feel welcome. Very friendly people. Usually we used to eat at the mall, but since it was locked down (it reopened monday the 1st June) this time we tried the pizzeria just in front of the mall and it had nice pasta and pizza. We had lunch too at Manteigas, and it was great. Yes, it is easy to get around Covilhã.Jorge ManuelPortugal

We arrived late due to a car breakdown. Called from the side of the road and asked last minute if they could provide dinner for a very much later arrival than anticipated! A delicious, 4 course homemade meal with wine was ready when we arrived. Spectacular! If you’re in this area of Portugal, I’d recommend highly. Beautiful pool. Great breakfast included and you can place your order the night before.
