I'm going to hijack this space to promote the Rotterdam Marathon, since that's why I was there. I've run 20 marathons now and this is one of the very best. The city comes ALIVE out on the streets and the crowds are SO supportive of runners, constantly encouraging individual runners by name (printed on bibs) throughout the entire race. Thank you Rotterdam for such a great experience! And for any marathon runners who read this, you really need to run this race and visit this city!

We completed Rotterdam in a day, with a visit to the maritime museum. Markthall is pretty, but thats about it. We enjoyed Denhague a lot.

It is a very interesting city from an architectural point of view. Old is mixed with new and the new buildings are mostly very special.

Overall the city of Rotterdam, is very easy to get around as there is a great transport network there. Unless you are traveling very late at night or very early in the morning the frequency of the buses, metro and trams is very good. There are lots of places to eat and drink. If you just want to sample a few places then I would recommend going on a food and drink tour (There are lots of different tours you can do in Rotterdam) One of the best ways to see Rotterdam city center is by bike. If you are looking to see the city as a whole then I would recommend the metro. Rotterdam has lots to offer. This includes various bike and walking tours, markets, museum's, Zoo's and Architecture

I chose Rotterdam as a good base to see several towns in the region. But in hindsight, I would not do this again and would not recommend it. It's not a destination city. Yes, some cool architecture, but also tons of ugly buildings and generic shopping. If I had it to do over again, I would have booked those 6 nights in Leiden, which we loved!

Good city to visit, an hour by train from Amsterdam.
Good city to visit, an hour by train from Amsterdam. Not overrun with tourists, friendly locals who nearly all speak good English, so no problem making yourself understood. Lots of interesting architecture, nice coffee places with pastries and cookies available, Dutch apple tart a speciality.
Our stay in Rotterdam accidentally coincided with Kings Day (27 April) and we really appreciated the hotel's location on a quiet side street - the city was having one gigantic, very noisy party and we had a nice place to go to escape from it! The bed was huge and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and smart. All of the members of staff were friendly and helpful. We did not opt for breakfast, which was not in our bit of the hotel anyway, but there were some very good cafes not far away serving eggs, pancakes etc.
First of all, the view of the room was amazing as it was perfectly directed to the skyline of Rotterdam and the river. The location was amazing because being next to the port created an amazing atmosphere. We used public bike-sharing services, discovering the city and further-away locations with bicycles. That worked unexpectedly well. The hotel is overall very modern and has a unique and appealing style (decoration, architecture).
It is a very nice hotel. The bed is comfortable and there is a nice lounge, with free coffee. There is a person at the entrance that helps with the check-in and with some information about the city. The room is clean and equipped with soap and shampoo. The metro is close to the hotel, the train station is 15-20 minutes walk. The Rotterdam Ahoy center is 30 minutes away by metro.
Remember to enter the parking with a ticket and not directly with your own credit card... The hotel cannot reimburse you from your credit card but only with the parking garage ticket.
The staff was very attentive and friendly. We came with a dog and were very much welcomed.
The location is good and within walking distance to the city over the famous Rotterdam Bridge.
This is a small hotel centrally located but on a very quiet street. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The hotel is well staffed and the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers a reasonable selection in a pleasant, calm room and your eggs are cooked to order. I would definitely stay there again if I were to return to Rotterdam
Hotel location was at the very center of Rotterdam with two metro station nearby and even Rotterdam Centraal Station was located walking distance.
Very friendly staff in the reception and even much friendly staff in the breakfast room. It was my sons first travelling experience and he seems to love every part of staying in this hotel.
Lovely little hotel, ideally situated for exploring Delfshaven and Oud-Charlois, for such delights as the Dutch Pinball Museum. On this visit, the outside temp. was 30° plus, so the aircon unit in the room was WONDERFUL. Another plus is that the desk is attended 24/7, so no problem catching the the late flight to Rotterdam airport.
The apartment is very clean and spacious. Big window for natural light enable me to see the city in day time and night time. Besides its' location in the city center, it eased us in finding food and shops . The staffs are helpful as well and willing to answer any questions . Will stay here again if I visit Rotterdam
The hotel is closed to main train station- Rotterdam Centraal. About 15mins by tram. You may take direct tram from the hotel to water bus station if Kinderdijk is in your itineries too.
There are many restaurants/cafe nearby the hotel.
The hotel's staff are super friendly and approachable.
ART Hotel Rotterdam is a comfortable, clean, central place to stay and we would stay again. The staff were especially lovely with our 2 year old daughter when we went to the Mio Papa restaurant for meals, giving her toys to play with and entertaining her in between serving other customers.
very nice location, walkable to city center about 15 min walk, quiet area, comfy beds, clean bathroom and friendly stuff, parking for fair prices, coffee and tea in the room. We will come back to this hotel for our next Rotterdam trip.
Fair price for what you get.
Breakfast was generous and tasty. The hotel location provides easy access to highway. Rotterdam city center can be reached within minutes. The stuff tried to help us as much as they could. Rooms are modern and have excellent sound isolation.
Marco is the best host I’ve seen in Netherlands . Also his breakfast ( he made it himself) is so delicious. The vicinity of hotel is so easy to travel all the city by foot. If I travel to Rotterdam again, I will stay in here again :)
The location of the hotel is unquestionably good: it's close to the railway station in the heart of the city. It is very convenient to go to any part of Rotterdam from the hotel, which was much appreciated.
Not far from city center, it's near public transportation. You can even walk from Rotterdam Central around 20 min. The room is quite spacious, one of the nicest hotel that we stayed.
The hotel is very clean and modern and is located near the Rotterdam Blaak Station and the Markthal, We felt safe walking around the area and there was much to see and do.
