I loved the charm of the rooms, quality and cleanliness of the bathrooms. I also appreciated the staff at the Boutique Sint Jacob. We opted not to have our rooms cleaned as we only stayed for a night and the following day/night, so the staff we met was in the kitchen. We didn't choose the breakfast option, but we did meet them when making inquiries. The two individuals we met, were very welcoming, and helpful.

LOCATION!!!! Right on the town square. Although the room was relatively small it was very well-designed and laid out. Comfortable bed, good lighting and. storage. We had a room on the 2nd floor with a nice balcony, but I was concerned about street noise. No problem. Insulated glass.
Good typical breakfast. Helpful luggage storage. 15to 20 minute walk from train station or take a local bus. Good free walking tour starting not far away.

One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, picturesque Maastricht has an international feel. Not only can you walk to Belgium and bike to Germany, this town also gave birth to the European Union and euro currency following the 1992 Maastricht Treaty.
Its largest square – Vrijthof – houses the twin churches of St. Jan and St. Servaas, a theater and several sidewalk cafes. Various festivals and the Magic Maastricht Christmas markets are also held here. Markt square is home to the Flemish-style town hall, a twice-weekly market and even more restaurants and bars offering great nightlife.
The excellent shopping options in Maastricht include unique shops on the cobbled Old Town streets, exclusive boutiques on Stokstraat, and the Entre Deux and Mosae Forum shopping centers. Dotted among these is Booking.com’s wide range of Maastricht accommodations.
Well-preserved city walls surround the Old Town and run close to the Maas River where boat trips are available. Before flying out of Maastricht Aachen Airport, don’t miss the fine art by Rubens and Van Dyck in the Bonnefanten Museum, a modern building reflecting the area’s pottery heritage.

What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands!
What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands! My husband and I explored the city on foot for three days and discovered lovely shops, wonderful coffeeshops (check out Fixed Gear if you are a cyclist), and interesting restaurants. Every meal we had in the town was delicious, and the locals were unfailingly accommodating.

It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere.
It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere. Beautiful historical areas. There are many parks and green areas to walk through. A lot of hidden gems on the outskirts of the city - definitely worth hopping on the bus from one end to the other and discovering what lies outside of the city center. Must try the breakfast menu from Coffeelovers Plein 1992.

A grand historic location not overrun by tourists.
A grand historic location not overrun by tourists. Loved not having seen huge tour busses and gobs of people following your standardised tour guidess. One doesn't have to walk far to 'get lost' in quite narrow allayes without any tourists. I was actually surprised how peaceful the town was and we did visit it on a weekend. Hance the lack of tourists, maybe that is why it was so clean? The city also offers a pleasant shopping experience. The stores are nicely spread out in numerous streets, so that you can combine a historic tour with the occasional peek in a strore. Loved the city and would gladly return.

Maastricht is a hidden treasure and should be on everyones list to visit. The tours of the underground tunnels, the history of the town itself are all fascinating. The architecture is soooooo old and captivating, everywhere you look is history. You can walk anywhere around this beautiful little town and be awed by its beauty. The restaurants we tried were terrific and the staff full of characters and openly friendly people. I loved it. I will be coming back one day.
The B&B Au Lion D' or is located in the centre of Maastricht. There is no need for a taxi or a bus , because of a walking
distance to the B & B from the train station. We were impressed by the character of the hotel and our room. The room was different from the one we booked , but that was no problem. The room was spacious with a nice view , with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was tasty with a good coffee. The owners were nice and friendly.
My husband and I could not have been happier with our accommodations in Maastricht. This property is lovely, and the room was much larger than we expected. Additionally, the breakfast (included) was amazing each morning: eggs, breads, pastries, fruits, meats, coffee, and juice served in our room at the time we requested. The hosts were friendly and helpful. There is nothing we could have needed that we did not find in our room.
Nice and small hotel in a charming building. Great location near Vrijthof and Onze Lieve Vrouwenplein. Rooms were tastefully decorated, mixing old and new with art. Bed was very comfortable. The place was very clean. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. He sent us a text message a day in advance with instructions for possible late arrival (reception is open until 14:00). Free coffee and tea in the room. Recommended !
If you want a boutique experience, look no further. The hôtelier has finely crafted this hotel. Sit on the patio and listen to the quiet traces of university life. Feel free to enjoy the light play in the early evening and Dutch design elements. Talk to the hotel manager and he can answer questions, give advice, inform you of what you did not know…The town of Maastricht is a lost emerald in the crown of Europe.
A very friendly reception lady and cleaning team and a clean and spaceous room. It has everything you need, although sometimes well hidden within the interior; I only discovered there was a mini bar when I left. There is a nice indoor pool. The location of the hotel is very central for discovering Maastricht. Public (paid) parking is at walking distance.
Location is perfect in the middle of Maastricht. However bare in mind that Visa + Master Card are not excepted in this town so we did struggle to pay. Also if you are traveling with a large vehicle (our was Defender Land Rover ) its impossible to park. The nearest park for our car was 1.5 mile away. Overall very good hotel and pleasant staff.
The breakfast was good with plenty of choice, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the car park was behind the hotel. The hotel is quite a distance from the town centre but the local bus service was just outside the main entrance. There is not much to do were the hotel is situated bur we didn't find this an issue.
Located close to the city centre. We could find an underground parking spot within 100 meters. We wanted to see the historic monuments and also sample the local delicacies and we could do all of these by walk.
The local Christmas market was open in the evenings and the proximity to the hotel was very convenient.
Position is perfect, 2minutes walk from the train station and 10 from the centrum of Maastricht. A lot of restaurants, pub etc near the Hotel. Comfortable room (307), well insonorisation. No issue related to the current external facade maintenance, we had a very good stay.
Great staff, very nice and friendly.
The hostel is in a great location, close to Maastricht station and the city centre. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable, and the whole hostel was nicely decorated. There is free tea and coffee in the common area, and breakfast was worth the extra money.
Attractive hotel in a great location, close to the city centre. Parking nearby in huge outside parking. Room fine, a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Safety deposit box too small for laptops. Nice breakfast in historic room.
The hotel is conveniently located to city centre.
The rooms interior is beautiful and the room itself is spacious with a big comfortable bed, my husband and I loved the bath tub.
The breakfast is also wonderful!!
Second time we stayed at the hotel. Lovely staff, beautiful place to stay. Very handy if you have a car because it has a good car park.
Uber taxi journey into Maastricht centre €16-€21.
Very neat, clean and with a luxury feel. the room had heating, and the bathroom was spacious. the hotel is in the city centre and pretty much everything is near enough to walk.
Nice hotel in the city centre. Car was able to park outsite. I was always able to find the spot. Also like the hotel. Nothing special. But price meets the quality. Recommend.
