Bergen op Zoom is a small Dutch town, very beautiful, good walking spots. Very good transport links. Probably not as touristy as the main cities in Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven) but a great town that really needs to go to. Great history

Our family have just moved to live in the area so we had never been previously but were greatly surprised by the variety of restaurants and the shops. Only there for the weekend but will return as soon as we can. Only one bit of advice remember to take comfortable shoes for walking, plus my husband found a store selling vinyl LP's.

Had to cancel our booking 24hrs before due date as both my husband and I tested positive for Covid with several symptoms and our 2 friends were clasified as "case contact". Had a confirmation from the hotel via message service on Booking.com, incl. "price cancelled by property". However, several days later my bank informed me that 198 Euros were taken from our a/c via my card. No invoice/receipt and all messages or even access to messaging service to this hotel disappeared from my client page. Spoke to to the hotel this morning, Was promised a call back in 5 minutes. Still waiting. I cannot even try to claim our lost money on insurance without a proper receipt. That is dishonest.

You don't actually have that much to do in Bergen op Zoom.
You don't actually have that much to do in Bergen op Zoom. It's a really quiet city. There are some celebrations and special dates but nothing fancy. For a daily life is pretty nice. You can walk it really well. There are parks but only one shopping mall (ish). People are really kind and welcoming, since this is a city which don't have tourism as its main income, they try really hard to make you feel home.

A great town in North Brabant, to explore the surrounding areas. I stayed at Bergen op Zoom and made day trips (about 100 km in one direction) to explore Zeeland (Westkapelle, Sluis. Sint Anna Ter Muiden, Middelburg...etc) I also visited Knokke-Heist to see a bit of Belgium "Monaco"

Nice historic town with the Markiezenhof museum as the highlight. The Markiezenhof building is great in itself, the exhibition "Hoge Luchten" was beautiful, well worth the visit. The town has quite a few nice squares with outside seating to enjoy a drink of meal. Buildings generally seem to be very well maintained. On the edge of town you can visit the beach. All in all a lively historic town, worth a visit.
Great location in the historic town of Bergen op Zoom. We were blown away as we walked into the space which is located inside what was a retail shop. The room was beautiful and the spaces that were ours went on for ever - bedroom, kitchen, Bali inspired outside courtyard, covered terrace with comfortable seating and additional cooking facilities. There’s a secure space to store bikes.
The location is steps away from the palace and city gates. There’s interesting streets to explore- a more authentic vibe than the bigger tourists towns…
This if very much a privately run hotel and because of that it felt welcoming and cozy. The room was on the small side but the bed was comfy and breakfast good. Free tea and coffee was available from the breakfast room. There is a nice (quiet) pub just along. They also have safe storage for the bikes. Despite it being close to the train station, it was very quiet
I was a bit worried as the hotel has had some poor reviews but I found them overdone. OK the bathroom could do with updating and there was a bit of noise from the plumbing, but it was a good sized room with a view over the water. It was just a ten minute walk into town and all the restaurants if you did not fancy eating at the hotel.
Décor and hotel impressive. (suite)
Facilities are clean, and work properly -shower right pressure and good temperature.
Breakfast is great, and the staff is friendly.
Very spacious room and my SO worked from the desk and told me that both the wifi and the desk were great.
A fantastic location for cycling and/or exploring the region of Bergen op Zoom.
Nice room, great breakfast, fantastic host, and a terrace with view that is hard to find in the Netherlands.
Good parking space if you come by car, 10 minutes by bike to Bergen op Zoom.
What a great discovery for my first night in Bergen Op Zoom, the owner was very friendly and had the chance to chat with him during check in and breakfast, him and the staff were very helpful and accommodating, was a great night sleep in a curated room.
The location is great - close to the center, shops and there's a supermarket nearby.
It is not a large hotel, and divided over several apartment clusters. The rooms are comfy with nice beds.
The Hotel is amazing in the old Dutch way. Owner and his family are really happy people and I would recommend everyone staying in Bergen op Zoom to stay in Hotel Old Dutch.
Really nice hotel, very friendly staff and a great location a short walk away from the main square. Check in was really easy and I have nothing bad to say about the room.
Great Room, great location and great breakfast. Located in the middle of this very old town. The hotel is the oldest hotel in the Netherlands dating back to 1397.
