I was only staying in Bergen as I wanted to be close to Alkmaar where I travelled to from the hotel. The buses were very clean and nice to travel on but unfortunately they did not run at the scheduled times, I found i had longer waits than anticipated.

Bergen has a nice atmosphere, a great selection of restaurants and a few pleasant shops too - far more than you would expect from a modest sized village. It's a short cycle ride to the beach and an even shorter ride to Alkmaar so it makes a perfect base for exploring this part of North Holland.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful and the communication with them was great. We loved how cozy the place is and it's truly relaxing. The location is also perfect - Bergen is a lovely town where you can find everything you need for a vacation stay. We absolutely loved the place and didn't want to leave. And you can also book sauna which we enjoyed very much. The hosts really take care of everything and have thought about the smallest details.
