We liked the location…on a quiet street, yet close to stores and restaurants. Our room was bright and quiet…and tastefully decorated with original art on the walls. The host was friendly and very helpful…we appreciated having a fridge on our floor to use as there isn’t one in the room. The breakfast was very good too. One of our best stays!

Old Amersfoort is a lovely almost totally pedestrian sea of tranquility. It has some beautiful shops from small independent traders to some of the large well known brands. There are numerous cafe's and restaurants which sell beautiful and reasonably priced food. There is a farmers market in the square on Saturdays which sold some beautiful food and extremely reasonably priced flowers and plants. In particular there was a fabulous Bread seller. It is a perfect place to amble about on foot and explore and we much preferred it to the 'chaos' of Amsterdam which is only a half an hours train ride away on very punctual trains if you wish to visit. There is an almost total ban on vehicles but we were able to park in a very secure car park a matter of 250m away from our accommodation (although I believe that you are allowed to enter and unload if required but check and don't take my word for it). In particular I would recommend a peach tea or coffee and sandwich at 'Corazan Coffee' on Krommestraat(the smoked chicken bacon and mango sandwich is amazing) or at 'Brood Atelier' on Nieuweweg. The atmosphere as well as the food at both places is wonderful. The one thing that should also be mentioned is that the residents of Amersfoort are unbelievably welcoming and helpful.

Beautiful little city with loads of history.
Beautiful little city with loads of history. Not as manic as Amsterdam or Utrecht. Great restaurants, bars and shopping. Great place to relax and unwind or venture onto the outskirts and visit Kamp Amersfoort or walk the canals.

I liked the atmosphere of a tiny town, beautiful architecture, the water canal.
The public transport is very easy to use, the tickets can be bought by credit card in the bus. An exploratory walk around the old town took me cca 30mins.
I took a boat trip around the canal with Waterlijn rondvaarten Amersfoort, but the guide spoke Dutch.
I recommend very tasty cousine in a Greek Restaurand Pallas Athene and Spanish Restaurand Brasa with good wine, both in the Hof (main square).
On Saturday morning there was a market with local products (cheese, flowers, vegetables, fish, bakery) in the Hof.

Limited to the "old town". A lovely environment to stroll around with many terrific old buildings. Great choice of bars/restaurants. OK, its a bit touristy, but much less so than Utrecht. I didn't really get a chance to explore the more modern part of the city.

A beautiful old city - steeped in history with amazing architecture and a great vibe. We walked everywhere we needed to be - including from and to the train station. We stayed in the historic heart of the old city in Hotel De Gaaper which was a treat and a great place to experience the city.
I stayed at Vita Nova for two nights and it was an amazing experience. The boat is beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean. The rooms are small but comfortable, and the beds are very cozy. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. Elene is a wonderful host and she makes the most delicious food. I would highly recommend staying at Vita Nova to anyone looking for a unique and charming place to stay in Amersfoort.

Breakfast was really good, especially the "dutch" omelette. The cook guy was friendly and I appreciated that.
Room was nice and very quiet though the hotel was surrounded by 2 motorways.
Nice lobby.
Employees were kind and helpful.
Would recommend it.
This hotel's location is incredible, right by the church tower. The bed was very comfortable and everything looked clean. The staff was incredibly kind as well, which made me feel welcomed. I'm definitely coming back if given the chance!
The hotel is inside a former monastery and this in itself is rather impressive. The size of both the room and of the bathroom was good. Very nice, renovated breakfast area and good breakfast. Comfortable beds. Nice shower. Free parking.
Staff were very helpful & welcoming. Hotel was very central & parking was easy in underground car park.
Room was very clean as was bathroom.
View was excellent from window on 6th floor.
Amersfoort is a great town & very pretty.
Great location, very friendly owner who upgraded my room free of charge. It's a simple, safe, clean budget hotel that is perfect for a night or two stay. Breakfast simple but enjoyable. Absolutely no complaints
The hotel has a central location and I stayed one night in a single room which looked a bit dated.
The bathroom was spacious and functional.
The Wifi worked well
They were friendly at the reception. We could arrange an upgrade for a decent amount of money. Great parking space. The hotel is very close to the city centre
Clean and very comfortable room. It’s located in the center of Amersfoort, a vibrant and energizing environment with lots of restaurants at walking distance.
