It is a small and charming town, but there is really not much to do, you can see all the sights in a single day. But if you're planning to explore the surrounding areas for the lakes and hikes, then it is a good base location.

We only stayed one night in Villach on our way to an extended stay in Italy. We had a wander round the old town however and it appeared to have many very interesting features. We intend to come back for a longer stay next year to explore Villach and the surrounding area of beautiful Austrian countryside.

Fabulous little city, romantic downtown, great church. Shopping and pedestrian zone superb. Landskron castle a must visit, Food and amenities super. Downtown hotels are very attractive and stylish, the river Drau is impressive. The lakes, Faaker and Ossiacher are brillant and pristine. Would go back in a heartbeat, stay was too short.

A nice and quiet town, however there are a lot of places to hang out at night and have a good time. Good restaurants not just typical ones. Perfect for a summer or a winter vacation: ski-area quite close, lakes very near, biking and hiking route

Nassfeld mountain filled our day with great excitement, such as: Cable car, flying fox adventure park and a cool slide down the mountain. Minimundus and few hours by the lake were nice too. Other than that we were short on ideas of things to do nearby- So we recommend to spend 3 days max here.
The staff is very welcoming, knowledgeable, and flexible to humans and pets alike. This hotel is in a perfect location, just across the train station, with ample parking possibilities, something appreciated, especially when traveling with a pet or a person with restricted mobility. I especially commend the reception area with ample space and the ability to work some extra hours even after checking out.
That was my first stay in Villach and I was amazed by everything along the way.
Motel55 was a very nice place to stay. Hotel Motel55 offered for our stay a large kitchen where to prepare our food for dinner and breakfast. Rooms, all 5 rooms, were large, sunny, and clean, with coffee machine welcoming for more stay.
Next year I will definitely pick up the same hotel for a longer period.
We cycled through the area on the Alpre Adria bike route. We loved exploring the city by foot and took a day off from cycling to do this. I felt like I was staying in a museum. We woke to the sounds of the church bells. We enjoyed the courtyard with its vegetable and herb containers.
StadtHotel is an self check-in/self-service hotel in the centre of Villach. Ideal for railway station and town. I booked a single room, which was small but adequate. Shower and bathroom also small - may not suit a larger person.
The self check-in was really easy to use as well
The location of the Hotel is excellent and really quiet. It is close to the city center and the railway if you want to go on a trip. Breakfast is delicious. The size of the room is right. Panoramic elevator with nice views. The staff is helpful and kind. :)
The hotel is really nice, the location is handy for the station and the local cafes. I really liked the room. Everything was clean. There was water to drink. The shower worked fine and the towels were soft. The mattress was comfy and soft.
Wonderful traditional hotel steeped in history in beautiful Villach. Very convenient location with parking nearby. Walkable to everything. The staff is the star, however, friendly and the hotel is beautifully maintained.
Nicely equipped apartment. Top floor with view. In the city center with parking. Shopy, restaurants near. Visit also pancakes restorant near the entrance. We surely will book again. Thank you Team of city apa. Villach
Everything was fantastic. Receptionist was very kind and wanted to help with everything. Breakfast was delicious.
Rooms were clean and spacefool. The hotel is in the city centre. We would defenitily come again.
A great, clean apartment in the very center of the city. Everything you need for your convenience is included. The only challenge is carrying your luggage up if your apartment is on the 3rd floor.
Great place to stay! Super clean, cozy and very well equipped, you can tell Mrs.Anita thinks of every detail. We felt like in a 5* hotel with those little perks of pillow chocolate and slippers.
Awesome breakfast. The personal, room, bathroom...everything was nice and very clean, but if I ever need to stay in Villach, I am staying in this hotel and the reason is breakfast!
