The best thing is its Location. It's walking distance from the Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen Bahnhof ~ 400 meters. Other than this the apartment has some nice views from the apartment. The apartment that we had, had all basic amenities in the kitchen. The rooms are a bit old but clean. Before coming to Obertraun, you must keep a watch on the weather.

Hubert and Heidi were friendly and went above and beyond our expectations. When I arrived I explained I had lost my wallet on the bus journey there. They were very understanding and phoned a friend from the village, who worked for the bus company. The wallet was later found and returned to the Salzburg office, the friend collected it for me and dropped it off at B&B Simmer at midnight (the end of her shift). Hubert stayed up specially and returned the wallet to me at breakfast (all intact). Such acts of kindness made our holiday extra memorable. Thank you all so much.

We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but found as our trip got closer that there was a lot more to do in Obertraun and Halstatt than originally thought so our one night stay turned out to not be long enough. If I were booking again I would definitely stay two or three nights so we could explore the salt mines, walks and view points.

We stayed in Obertraum so we could take the ferry to go to Hallstatt by ferry. The ferry ride was amazing, heavenly peace and tranquil. However, we did not know enough about the area. Obertraun is probably the best place for easy access to Hallstatt (besides being in Hallstatt itself). Bike rentals are easy and the bike ride to Hallstatt is also easy with very little elevation change. Lots of biking in the area.

Perfect location, fantastic view to Hallstatt and the mountains. Easy to reach Hallstatt even with bicycle, Dachstein and mountains are also very close. Small village, quieter than the nearby Hallstatt. Can walk around everywhere on foot. Good for few days with public transport, longer than that you may want a car since there is only one restaurant ("Pizzeria") and buses come only once per hour.JessicaIsrael

We love the house, and everything here. Definitely recommend to stay here if you plan to stop a night after visiting hallstatt lahn. The view from the room is so beautiful.
