It’s the perfect little city to use as a base for exploring...
It’s the perfect little city to use as a base for exploring this area is eastern Tyrall. Call there’s plenty to do here in any season. In the winter there is skiing, paragliding, cross-country skiing, walking through the beautiful valley. In the summer there is rafting, mountaineering, lots of hiking and other outdoor activities. The people are really wonderful and friendly and there are many other places to visit nearby. Just beautiful scenery everywhere you look!!! We found numerous delicious restaurants including Kirchenwirt and Adler Stube. We also absolutely loved the café at the top of Zettersfeld… The ski area. It was so cozy and cute and the scenery was just stunning 360° views of the Alps. Great food. We went to paragliding with the Bruno Girstmair Flight school. Incredible experience. Lienz was a very nice town, with plenty of variety for shopping, drinking coffee and eating the most amazing cakes. The ski lift can be reached on foot or bus. The views from the top were amazing as was the cafe where you can have lunch, sit outside and enjoy the sunshine, after skiing..

Hotel-Gasthof Gribelehof - very good hotel location/pleasant and helpful hotel staff/great and clean hotel room with the balcony/various breakfast with superb coffee/good Wi-Fi. I´m pleased to recommend you pizzeria DaLeonardo; walking in the city centre and in the park plus lifts on the hills. There´re a lot of possibilities for walking, hiking and cycling.

Beautiful location but didn't have enough time to visit the castle or walk about The Alpine coaster was great, as was the cable car up to the top of the mountain. Stunning views of the whole area and behind. I would recommend Lienz to anyone who is visiting the Alps region. It's a great starting point!

Hotel is absolutely fantastic on both the inside and outside, rooms very large, clean and stunning views from the balcony. Took the half board option and the food was plentiful, perfectly cooked and very enjoyable. Cannot recommend this hotel enough though i would suggest atleast having a 2 night stay minimum as there is so much to enjoy here.

Breakfast was busy, and had to wait for a free table, other than that the selections were excellent. definitely stay again
