We loved this beautiful place. We hiked a lot, went for summer rodeln in Lienz, went for breakfast to Cafe Central and spend a lot of time at the amazing pool. On the day we left it was raining heavily which meant rafting fun.
When you’re up for an hour drive, it is an amazing route to the beautiful Wörthersee. All in all, a beautiful place.

Not much to see.
Not much to see. We were only there for a stopover and visited the village for dinner. Scenery is nice but much nicer (in my opinion) on the other side of Grossglockner, e.g. Zell am See, if the Tyrol style is what you are looking for.

A beautiful little village in the Austrian Mountains.
A beautiful little village in the Austrian Mountains. Great setting, lovely people, good food and lots of activities to keep everyone happy. We’ve been visiting for 19 years and we still want to visit again!
The house is well equipped for 6 people, it's comfortable and cozy, it was the perfect accommodation to spend a week with friends. It's next to the ski pists in Kötschach, and in about ten minutes you can get to the city centre, where in wintertime you can use the skibus to get to Nassfeld, the best ski resort in the southern part of the Alps. The Wellness in Kötschach is also in walking distance, about 8 minutes.
Everyone in the hotel was very friendly. Was a county hotel up in the mountains with super views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Note---you would be up there alone except for staff and guests. Breakfast the next morning was great and they even offered to fix eggs to order, which is not the norm in Germany/Austria. Room was very large and also had great views.
The staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, light and comfortable with unique design...stayed in the EMO room, nice experience. The brewery downstairs was packed, but still the dinner arrived fast and was delicious. There is a reasonable selection for breakfast, too. The hotel offers a garage for the motorbikes...all round great place to stay.
Nice and comfortable apartment in Kötschach, for 3 of us. We were traveling primarily because of skiing (Nassfeld, Kals Matrei), and Kötschach was a good place to reach Lienz and Hermagor.
Sabine was very nice host, we felt like at home. She recommended us pools for swimming, close to the apartment, and they were good for relax after skiing.
The staff were friendly, helpful and when I mentioned in passing that we were going to ride the Grossglockner pass the next day, the young man said the hotel can provide discount tickets for the Grossglockner pass, which saved the three of us approx 7.50 euro each.......breakfast was great too - comfortable rooms and environment.
Lovely family run hotel and restaurant. We were made to feel very welcome and looked after very well. The food was good and the rooms, although slightly quirky in terms of layout were very clean. We managed to use the garage on site for some of our cars and the jet wash!
Nice appartement, wel equiped and nicely located in the centre off Kotschach. it’s in the center, but the windows keeps all the noise out. Very kind host who is there whenever you need something. loved our stay.
The garden is pretty enough, and is in a quiet small group of houses. The shower (room #1) was excellent - the best we have experienced in any hotel/pension.
