Situated some 930 metres ASL, it is at the end of tram route STB that takes you into the heart of Innsbruck in an hour and is ideal for alighting at stops from which to trek through the meadows and forests. Good base to explore Stubai region. Though local tax may be higher than other places and there is additional road toll to access the region, the use of Stubai guest card to cover mountain cable cars and car parking cost provide convenience and enjoyment.

We stayed at Gasthof Gröbenhof on our way to Italy.
We stayed at Gasthof Gröbenhof on our way to Italy. We have never seen such a clean accomodation as Gröbenhof. Our bedroom and bathroom were both big and very comfortable. Dinner on the night of arrival and breakfast the next day were both very good. Recommended for a sleepover!

The host is a sociable and helpful person, he gave us details on shops, cafes and hiking routes. So we felt that we are really welcome here. It is a very nice location- 5 minutes walk to the bus stop and shops. And you can easily go to Innsbruck or have a piecefull walk along green fieds, clean streets or the river, enjoy valley flowers, trill of birds and crickets. As it's located in Fulpmes, it's 11 km from the first hut (Starkenburger Hütte). Carmen, the hostess, is very nice, welcoming and attendtive. We were late past check-in time, but Carmen assured us it's ok and waited for us until we arrived. The room is very basic, but nice and cosy. The bed was comfortable. We never would have thought going to the Stubai valley with a toddler could have been so much fun. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. Mainly Austrian/German cuisine at dinner but it was quite good. The spa at the hotel is nice and we enjoyed the half board and the extra space of the junior suite we booked.

Very good breakfast and dinner in Austrian style, the staff was very helpful and nice. The room was big enough and in a great condition. The weather (+22 at day/+1 at night) made it a little difficult to balance the room temperature, but it was fine overall. Overall bed was pretty comfortable which was important after all the hikes.
