The town itself is not really a tourist magnet and there aren't many sights to see in the town itself, except maybe for the glass factory and museum. But the position in the Bavarian forest makes it ideal for day trips, with and without kids. And for a lazy day, there's always the Stadtpark with the playground.

Small yet charming town in the heart of the stunningly beautiful Bavarian Forest. Perfect starting point for hiking, biking, or even train journeys through the surrounding hills and meadows. The town is littered with good restaurants - both Bavarian and foreign - Greek, Italian, Thai... there is a lot to choose from.
Haus Anton is a great location to spend your holidays in Zwiesel. The apartment is close to the town center and also to the river and the Stadtpark (for those with kids). The apartment itself is on the first floor, has a living room with kitchinette and 2 bedrooms which are well sized. Each room has all the necessary furniture and the kitchinette is well equipped. The main balcony overlooks the town, offers a very nice view and you can enjoy the sunset from there. Parking is available on the premises.
The hotel is located in a beautiful area with mountains views, lots of greenery and flowers around.
Perfectly clean, quiet and cozy like at home.
Very comfortable bed and everything you need in the room.
Super tasty breakfast with a variety of dishes.
Lunch was buffet style and dinner was like in the best restaurant with appetizer, main course and dessert. Food was fresh and delicious.
Spa area with saunas and pool were very nice in the evening.
Very nice hotel staff, friendly and helpful.
The wellness center with spa and pool was very nice. The room (two-room suite for family) was quite spacious and the beds great for us two adults and three children. Big TVs, plenty of sofas for sitting and lounging. The staff was mostly friendly. Parking was directly in front of the hotel. We had a very nice view of the neighboring village and surrounding hills. The area was beautifully green and calm, with lots of walking trails nearby. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Our room was self-contained which was ideal for our stay. The pension was very clean and had lovely individual touches to make it feel homely. Doreen and Martin were amazing hosts with good humour and generosity. They made us feel very welcome and most accommodating. The breakfast each morning was amazing! Again, some lovely touches…. Messages on the eggs and Martin’s crumb collecting car! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others!
The breakfast was tasty and provided a variety to choose from. The place was relaxing and provided a wonderful view of the nearby towns and Bavarian Forest from the terrace located on the top floor. The booklet in the rooms provided a list of services and was presented in clear language in both English and German. I found it very inclusive and thoughtful. The hotel is located in a quiet area, and one can truly enjoy a relaxing weekend.
We stay at Gästehaus Steininger every time we come to this area. The pension is perfect for us in every way! Comfortable and clean room, friendly and very welcoming host, excellent location in a walking distance of the town center. Great views at the surrounding mountains from the spacious terrace. Plenty of parking space for our car. Fresh mountain air and peace and quiet for a well deserved good night sleep.
Location was great, only 15 min walk from the train station and in the hotel is in the main square. It's a 10 min train ride to the Bavarian Forest National Park and train passes are included with your stay so you can travel throughout the park. Sauna was great and the hotel restaurant was fantastic! Staff was very helpful and kind. Room was clean and had a balcony with fantastic views of the mountains around
Perfect location next to the train station. Easy parking. Nice and helpful staff. Great selection at the breakfast buffet, good coffee. Excellent food in the restaurant. Nice and very comfortable room. Daily cleaning service. Work desk and good Wi-Fi connection - I needed to work from the hotel for a few days which was no problem. Thank you for a nice stay!
This is a very nice hotel and I would love to come back, given the right sircumstances. The rooms was spacious, the bathroom was large and clean and the bar was nice. The breakfast was average in variation, but good in standard. The scenary was very nice and I was happy to be offered parking in front of the hotel.
the best. booked one room for family of four, but instead we got two rooms for the same price.
indoor pool and sauna were top, and close together.
breakfast was also wonderful and the owner was very kind and even gave us Bavarian forest aktiv card for free.
Very good quality for what we paid, the room had a very well equipped kitchenette and it was very clean. The area is worth the visit especially thanks to its glass manufacturing history and great nature.
Pleasant and helpful host. Everything was great and met our expectations. This spacious well equipped apartment was quiet despite its central location. There are shops and cafes nearby.
