The location was perfect, parking could be better but it was fine. The rooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed the board games that were un the room. The breakfast and breakfast room were wonderful! The artwork on the walls throughput the hotel was great, so fitting to the theme.

Great place to spend the night . Not really in Schalkau but actually 5.5km. away in Theuern which can be a bit upsetting when on bicycles . Backtracked an extra 11km. but the place was worth it . Large room with great views of the fields and mountains. Room very clean and bright with two large windows . Nice bathroom with great shower . On-site restaurant was very good with reasonable price point and friendly service . Good inside bike storage Nice complete breakfast as well .

We didnt receive any breakfast! But we LOVED Lauscha, We enjoyed seeing Steinach and Sonneburg as we had read a trilogy of books about the glassblowers in Lauscha and Steinach and Sonneburg was mentioned fairly frequently.
