As a small family, we really enjoyed this hotel. It’s beautifully designed and everyday we spent at least an hour in the pool. The breakfast was alright, personally I have had better, but still tasty. The lake is just a stone’s throw away and is absolutely lovely. And lastly, the staff were kind and helpful.

We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We spent the next day visiting the castle. There were a lot of tourists, and the tickets for the castle were booked out.
We came to show the kids, but probably wouldn’t have gone to the top if it was just my husband and I.
Lots of overpriced gift shops, and very much geared for tourism…

Beautiful hiking trails.
Beautiful hiking trails. You can walk to town and Neuschwanstein if you are in good shape. Much better than trying to find parking. Beautiful views. I would recommend going late in the evening as there is not that many tourists.

Neuschwanstein is without a doubt one of the most beautiful castles in the world. We stayed for a day to visit both castles, but wished we had stayed longer to see more of the nature around it as well.

It's in a fantastic location and is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lot to see, not least the castles built by King Ludwig. There are also many lovely walks to take and it's ideal for cycling, as there are lots of cycle tracks. There are lots of superb hotels to chose from, all in good locations and plenty of good restaurants and cafes. The mountains around are beautiful, and one of them has a Tegelbahn (cable car) at the top of which is a very good restaurant and a place for people to hang glide down to the valley below. There are also lots of walks up there with amazing views. Schwangau is close to the town of Fussen, which is well worth a visit and is at the border with Austria. There is also a lake, Forggensee, where there are regular boat trips.

Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking.
Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking. Gorgeous scenery. We enjoyed a walk to the lake in the evening at the sunset. Getting around Schwangau is easy both by car and by public transport.
Excellent location right on the lake and in walking distance to restaurants. Hotel offered a variety of rentals (i.e.SUP, Kayak and bikes (E-Bikes/city bikes) and more which was great to explore the area. Free public transport was available to all main attractions which was very convenient in order to get around. Plenty of tourist information material offered. The overall location was just ideal for walks, hikes, biking, swimming and offered magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. Also great for kids (a pony stable) is nearby:-)
From the balcony and even one of the beds, the castle Neuschwanstein is visible. An incredible view. Just a few minutes drive to the parking of the castles. Many restaurants and dinner opportunities within walking distance. Parking behind the hotel. It was possible to buy a cold beer or other drink in the entrance area. The room was clean, and the shower was nice. It was the cheapest place we could find near castle Neuschwanstein.
We booked a room with a view. Oh what a view! Neuschwanstein Castle with snow falling on it. The hotel was going to be closed for their Christmas Party the night we arrived. They had been communicating with me via Booking.com Messenger. I was a bit concerned it but it worked out just fine. Our welcome letter was in German (but Google translate helped with that). The room was great and the breakfast was wonderful.
Spacious terrace and a great view of the Neuschwanstein castle. A very pleasant hostess. The apartment is clean and comfortable. The bed is comfortable.
You can walk to the castle and the town of Füssen if you wish and if you don't mind walking a couple of kilometers)
There is free parking right next to the house.
The hostess sends detailed information on how to find the keys to the apartment.
The hotel is a charming blend of traditional style and updated amenities, and the family suite was perfect for our family of four. The hotel staff were gracious and very helpful, and the front desk staff went out of their way to help us with our booking.
The hotel spa and the easy access to area sightseeing made for a relaxing vacation.
The room was exactly as pictured and met our needs. The view was outstanding, and easy getting to the castle shuttles and local bus stops. Way better value than the hotels right around the corner, that didn't have our view! We spent hours on the wrap around deck looking at the gorgeous castles and surrounding greenery.
The hotel is extremely well located close by the lake and at a cycling distance from Neuschwanstein castle. The personnel is very nice, we almost felt like home. Breakfast was delicious. The place is very calm and and absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we plan to come back.
Beautiful location , nice and cozy rooms , delicious breakfast. Mind-blowing view from room window and the common terrace. Location is in vicinity to cycle , walking trails and bus stop to neuschwanstein castle. The castle and the mountains can be visible from the terrace as well in clear weather.
The location was excellent with a balcony and view of the castle! The room was large and decorated nicely with two comfortable chairs. The hotel had many antique decorations. Charming!
There was free parking on location and an excellent breakfast! The staff was very nice and helpful too!
This place has good vibes. Lovely stay for those who appreciate peace during evenings (most of tourists come to Schwangau only for few hours). Nice service, fantastic breakfast and very close distance to the lake.
We were in the best room of this hotel with a balcony and a view of the castle right from the bed. This makes the trip even more romantic and truly special.
The hotel staff is also very friendly.
The hotel Waldman was super comfortable. The rooms were very nice with large bathrooms. It is super close to the local tourist locations. The breakfast was very good. The staff was super helpful.
A pricey stay with not much to do around the hotel. the restaurant was excellent inside the hotel, spa was stunning (we had great massages) and the room was comfortable and spacious.
Lovely hotel with onsite restaurant. Perfect if visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. Lovely staff, great breakfast. Plenty of free parking onsite. Wi-fi good. Thoroughly recommend.
