We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We spent the next day visiting the castle. There were a lot of tourists, and the tickets for the castle were booked out.
We came to show the kids, but probably wouldn’t have gone to the top if it was just my husband and I.
Lots of overpriced gift shops, and very much geared for tourism…

Beautiful hiking trails.
Beautiful hiking trails. You can walk to town and Neuschwanstein if you are in good shape. Much better than trying to find parking. Beautiful views. I would recommend going late in the evening as there is not that many tourists.

Neuschwanstein is without a doubt one of the most beautiful castles in the world. We stayed for a day to visit both castles, but wished we had stayed longer to see more of the nature around it as well.

It's in a fantastic location and is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lot to see, not least the castles built by King Ludwig. There are also many lovely walks to take and it's ideal for cycling, as there are lots of cycle tracks. There are lots of superb hotels to chose from, all in good locations and plenty of good restaurants and cafes. The mountains around are beautiful, and one of them has a Tegelbahn (cable car) at the top of which is a very good restaurant and a place for people to hang glide down to the valley below. There are also lots of walks up there with amazing views. Schwangau is close to the town of Fussen, which is well worth a visit and is at the border with Austria. There is also a lake, Forggensee, where there are regular boat trips.

Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking.
Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking. Gorgeous scenery. We enjoyed a walk to the lake in the evening at the sunset. Getting around Schwangau is easy both by car and by public transport.
This is a lovely spot for a weekend getaway or longer. We were here on the end of our trip in Germany to visit nearby castles but were happy to have booked this hotel. The heated pool is fantastic and the whole facility is so large and spread out that crowdedness is not felt even though we could see it was busy. The restaurant translated every night’s menu to English for us which was a great gesture and sign of a fabulous and considerate host. Breakfasts are generous with lots of options. The decor is modernized Alpine and beautiful.
the hotel’s owner was very kind .
the clean in the room was perfectly.
the pillow and the bed was perfect.
the breakfast was all what I need to get to the castles.
the owner always was in the best way to explain everything what I needed to get the castles.
I arrived in a rainy day , and the owner gave me hot tee too make me feel save from the weather , in any specific form that made me feel that the place was the best place to stay in fussen, safe and lovely place.
Very cute, Bavarian-style hotel right in the middle of Schwangau. Walk (or very short drive) to castles and sights (Neuschwanstein; Hohenschwangau, Wittlesbach Museum) and Alps. Despite its traditional Alpine decor, it had the modern conveniences. Hotel staff was very friendly. Able to walk to some restaurants. I recommend easy hikes/walks around the Forggensee lake in Schwangau and around the Alpsee lake next to Hohenschwangau, both with well marked trails.
What a beautiful hotel! The interiors are very tasteful, and the breakfast was the best we had on our European vacation.
Our family room had five beds, normally the children need to share, so this was fantastic!
The kids loved the indoor pool, and the location to the castle is amazing!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, only wished we could stay longer!
The location is amazing! Just steps down the road is a fantastic view of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, as well as restaurants, shops, biking and walking paths, etc. The family who run the place are so sweet! The breakfast was wonderful, and the rooms were very clean. Good parking and the location made it easy to get in and out.
Everything, from the time we arrived . The staff was delightful and the facility was beautiful. The service at the restaurant was amazing and the food was the best we had on our trip. I really can’t say enough good things about our accommodations in the Mountain View Suite and this Hotel.
Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room was adorable. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The balcony had a nice view of Füssen and the mountains. Around the backside of the hotel, you can see Neuschwanstein castle right against the mountain. Perfect location.
Almost everything..
Receptionist were really welcome,
Room was fantastic, 2 separated bedrooms inside one room.
Really quiet place, near castles we loved 14 year ago.
Restaurant and breakfast as top as the hotel.
planing to comeback next year.
thanks a lot all of you.
We really enjoyed our stay at Landhotel Guglhupf. Location is very good for visiting the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Rooms are super clean and the breakfast is all home made and very delicious.
Great hotel. The location was absolutely perfect, just 1km to the castles (I even went back from them walking once). The breakfast was great and the rooms were big and comfy. The parking was also great, the same level as the rooms.
This place has good vibes. Lovely stay for those who appreciate peace during evenings (most of tourists come to Schwangau only for few hours). Nice service, fantastic breakfast and very close distance to the lake.
A very charming little hotel with good size rooms many with a view or partial view of Neuschwanstein. Parking and dogs allowed make this very worthwhile. Pleasant staff, and a nice pizzeria on the location.
The huge balcony, the view, perfect location. If the weather was a bit better we actually could walk to the Neuschwanstein Castle.
The staff was very friendly, and even let us to check in a bit earlier .
