We liked the location between Triberg and Schonwald with a car.
Great eggs at breakfast. We had them fried one day and scrambled the next. Also you must try the small muffins - yum!
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed both nights we stayed but found great options close by.
A sauna, fitness room and a garden terrace are offered at this Black Forest hotel, a 10-minute walk from Schönwald Town Center. Its country-style rooms feature satellite TV.

Friendly and helpful hosts. (host was not able to be there when we arrived and left us a kind and detailed note about how to get in, our rooms, and even suggestions for where we could go for dinner) Breakfast was fresh with a good variety.
Boutique Hotel Dorer is located in a quiet side street facing Schonewald’s sunny side. The street had formerly been known as “Herrengasse” and is still popular for idling the time away.
Landhotel Garni Schweizerhaus is located in Schönwald, located at an altitude of 3.3 feet between Triberg and Furtwangen. Each room here will provide you with a TV and satellite channels.

Owners were so friendly. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was great. Only thing is there aren't elevators, which was a challenge for my elderly mother and her luggage.
Located in Schönwald, in a building dating from 18th century, Hotel Zum Ochsen offers rooms with free WiFi. Among the various facilities of this property are a garden and a terrace.

It’s a beautiful bed and breakfast place. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

Isabell offers accommodations in Schönwald, 31 miles from Schwabentor. The property is around 14 miles from Neue Tonhalle, 22 miles from Adlerschanze, and 29 miles from Hochfirst Ski Jump.

The village is very quiet, especially on a Sunday but it is close to one of the major Black Forest tourist towns. There was also a reasonable but service to the city of Freiburg.
However, I expect the village comes alive during the winter sports season as there is a ski-lift in the village and a number of ski-runs indicated on local maps.
It would also be a reasonable centre for hikers with a number of routes indicated on a local map and the highest waterfall in the Black Forest to visit for the more advanturous

We highly recommend this home. We give it 5 out of 5 stars!
We highly recommend this home. We give it 5 out of 5 stars! The home is spotlessly clean. The beds are warm and very comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen are newly renovated and are very nice quality. There are many details that have not been missed. There are games to play, a towel warmer in the bathroom, and a washer (you’ll need detergent) with a drying rack. We brought our own laundry detergent and did one load and it dried by the next day. This was wonderful for us because we packed light for our total 17 day stay in Germany. We spent two nights here and we could have easily done two more with all the things to do in this area. We visited in early October and the weather was superb! We ate both nights in the town of Schonwald. We walked to both restaurants: an Italian place, just blocks away and the German restaurant on the other side of the city center (again walking distance.) We are Americans from Florida. We rent a room out of our house during our tourist season, so we are seasoned hosts with a 5 star rating ourselves. If we give it a high rating, it is truly worth the visit in this charming home.

We enjoyed the Italian restaurant, but it was the only restaurant open for the weekend. We ate there twice but would have appreciated another option (there was another restaurant, but it was never open)

It’s a nice small village.
It’s a nice small village. There’s not that much to do in Schönwald itself, but a lot to experience within a 30 minutes to 1 hour drive.
The village has a nice small supermarket, bakery, souvenir shops as well as restaurants, and a nice park area. Several large supermarkets about 10 minutes drive.

Great little town just a few kilometers from Triberg featuring great little sports to eat and shop and easy access to a network of hiking trails. Plenty of options for accommodations whether the summer hiking season or winter ski season - great location to unwind with your own outdoor adventure and not the throngs of tourists you find in Triberg.

The locals were very friendly and enjoyed a chat.Opposite the hotel is the tourist information centre, which advised me with valuable information. The hotel provided me with a free bus ticket, which was great for traveling around the beautiful countryside especially when visiting the waterfalls.
The property was very nice and it had an vintage feel to it. It felt unique because it felt like a specialty hotel versus a normal hotel. the interior characteristics were very unique to the region and gave a sense of comfort throughout the entire property. I liked the nice open living room area between one portion of the place and the other which opened up to double doors that led outside. I imagine visiting in the spring is even nicer.
Very comfortable room. We stayed in app timm, small apartment. Great bath as well. Good price. Essentially felt like hotel quality but without the hassle of being in a hotel, and with a stove to cook yourself if you want. I want to give a special shout out to the great reception we got from frau Feldmeier, who cycled up the mountain to give us a tour of the building and answer our questions. She was also helpful throughout our stay.
Walti was an outstanding host with a great apartment. The apartment was well stocked and even had "first night food" for people who arrive after grocery stores close. Schonwald is a quaint little town close to some of the most beautiful scenery in the southern Schwarzwald. On top of all that, the apartment was right next to the town ponds with an "art walk" and ducks and a playground that my family loved to visit.
The owners are kind and very friendly people and we communicted well, even though we do not know German and they know little English. They let us use their garage to park our motorbike. The hotel is well kept, clean and spacious. The breakfast was exceptional! Great restaurant offering traditional food around 15 minutes away on foot. The place is ideal for walks to Triberg and to explore Schonwald.
I have no idea what I would like about the property - as soon as we arrived the hostess informed us that she was entirely booked up and that we’d be staying at a different hotel, Hotel Rita, about a five minute drive away. Hotel Rita was lovely, so it worked out, but I think it’s a problem that you allow people to book into your hotel only to refer them onto a friends
The breakfast was good. The owner was nice and friendly. We had some problems with the check in due to the hotel owner couldn’t communicate well with English. The road was closed about 200 meters away from the hotel. We had not been told and had a hard time finding another road to reach the hotel in a raining evening.
The breakfast and dinner were very good. The staff was super nice and gentle. The hotel was a little weird for a non-European. I was amazed by the ironing board in the hallway. Interesting and faszinating concept. I would like to wear one of those exotic gorgeous traditional Schwarzwald hats they have on display.
The breakfast was the best we had at any of the hotels we went to. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were excellent and the location was perfect for what we needed. It was an excellent experience and we would happily stay again if we vacation in the same area in the future.
We liked the location between Triberg and Schonwald with a car.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed both nights we stayed but found great options close by.
As per the other reviews the host at this hotel was fantastic and offered us everything we needed, provided all the information we needed and was generally really friendly. Breakfast was a great buffet and the room was large, with a nice view and very comfortable.
Fantastic traditional hotel, third generation owner, everything kept according to tradition, with a marvelous obsession for the details. Italian cook completes a delicious experience in these forests where Danube river springs out.
Superb hotel in a great location if visiting the Schwarzwald. Lovely room and a very good restaurant. Indoor pool is excellent as is the garden with sun loungers. Highly recommended.
Clean room, Perfect Kitchen, Work desk, Swimming pool(Unfortunately we couldn’t get chance to swim), Hotel location. We liked all and we are extremely happy
Rooms and the whole hotel was clean and tidy. The staff was extremly kind and helpful. We really like the breakfast as well. The surrundigs are mezmerizing.
