We expected a lovely view from our 2nd floor rooms but we only looked put over other rooftops. There is a small lake nearby/behind the establishment but a muddy pathway was not the best way forward. We would not visit Schalkenmehren again.

The house has a little terrace with very nice views. The area is ideal to make nice walks with the family or friends. There are very good restaurants in the village as well.

The host very kind and helpful, speaks very good English it felt like visiting friends and not a hotel. Gave us good recommendations on how to spend the day. Bed linen and towels are of high quality.
