The location was great. We also enjoyed a special Christmas dinner that was quite impressive. The staff were all very welcoming. We had. One of the dining room servers was particularly wonderful, his name is Rui. He was so energetic and charming. I enjoyed the sauna as well. Very comfortable as long as you are comfortable being nude in mixed company.
This historic Black Forest hotel is located in the center of scenic Glottertal, a 15-minute drive from Freiburg. Family-run, it offers a regional restaurant with terrace and rooms with balconies.

Gorgeous small hotel located beside a lovely church in the heart of rural mountainous Germany, beautifully decorated in typical German fashion, warm and welcoming. Spectacular flowers!!
Very well appointed room and bathroom, excellent restaurant within the hotel and very friendly, efficient staff! Isabel was especially helpful!
For generations this establishment has been under family management, and is full of tradition. It is located in widely known Glottertal, north of the city of Freiburg.

Sankt Peter is a small village in the mountains, kind of secluded and very cozy. Even though it's small, it has grocery options and a decent amount of small restaurants to choose from. Generally a local and authentic German rural experience to visit the town.
The village has a baroque abbey library that should be very beautiful - visited the village twice but it has been closed due to COVID. Surrounding Sankt Peter is a lot of both smaller and larger villages you can easily visit by car, as well as a lot of natural sights like waterfalls, forests etc. to visit.
All in all a great little place to visit if you want to experience the German countryside.

This town in the Black Forest is definitely recommendable.
This town in the Black Forest is definitely recommendable. There are good restaurants, a stunning baroque church, variety of places to stay and the most refreshing countryside all around you. Lots of good walking trails are well attended! we love the place, we have been there four times!
A charming little family-owned hotel in a small village with very friendly staff and great accommodation, lovely breakfast and a delightful restaurant with local food. We got a big room, quiet and neat, with a balcony with view of the mountains. The hotel has a spa area, sauna and an outdoor bio pool - all a great add-on to the authentic German experience, even in the autumn where we visited the hotel for the second, and definitely not the last, time 😊
We stayed here as a family of 4 and we all very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hirschen in Sankt Peter. A lovely peaceful village and a really brilliant small hotel. The staff were very friendly and the evening dinner and breakfast were wonderful. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and at a very reasonable price. An excellent base for exploring the wonders of the Black Forest.
The location was beautiful. Right near the Church. (and chess board!) There was a couple of bars and restaurants around the corner in a small square. The hotel was being renovated but our room was all brand new and the other work certainly didn’t interfere.
It was a total delight being here, surrounded by the mountains in such a lovely apartment, with views over Sankt Peter Abbey. The accomodation has all you need to feel home away from home. The owner was helpful and incredibly friendly.
Very friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, and excelent dining options. Our room was comfortable and clean. The location of the hotel is great for exploring several destinations in the area.
Everything. The room was beautiful, spacious and with a beautiful view. The staff was lovely and welcoming. The hotel location was central. Really a grest stay. We cannot wait to go back
The hotel is in a beautiful and very calm spot. The rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. Breakfast was perfect (if a little expensive), with a stunning view from the dining room.
