Spacious apartment on the top floor of a very old building in the heart of historic Monschau (spoiler: no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up some very uneven old staircase - living in history has its downsides for some, not for us). Good explanation of check-in procedure, everything in this town is only a few footsteps away. Another spoiler: you have to park in a parking garage about 250 m away from the property, but back then they did not build for cars in the heart of a city. Monschau itself is as beautiful as shown on the pictures - well preserved buildings, but modern inside. No kitchen, as that might cause problems with fire safety, but a fridge, water cooker and coffee maker. And "Printen" (a local and very good specialty) as a nice welcome on the beds.

Perfect location if you like hiking, woods, rivers and easy mountains. Liked it a lot. Small cute touristic town, almost a village. And a lot of nature around. Even if you came without a car but you love walking - would be nice place for you. There seems not so much to do in the town other than eating and drinking but this was what we needed.

Monschau is a very pretty tourist-centric village.
Monschau is a very pretty tourist-centric village. Lots of hotels, holiday homes, restaurants and cafes. People are very friendly. Parking can be difficult altho there is a parking lot at each end of the village - do use them as parking in the middle is limited.
It has a lovely Christmas Market .
Monschau is also very convenient for visiting Aachen.
The Eifel is also a great area to walk or cycle and there is plenty to keep adults and children busy in the open air!

Visiting for Christmas Market. Aware only on at weekends.
Visiting for Christmas Market. Aware only on at weekends. We have visited several times over 20 years ago.Town not so decorated eg houses etc compared to few years ago. No longer small supermarket nor chemist, less stalls. Market did not seem as busy . The “passion play” held outside involving the children also no longer. Is this just a sign of the times following Covid? / rise in cost of living. However, we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Just two of us now. Also enjoyed the snow, made town and surrounding area very festive.

An amazing small village between mountains.
An amazing small village between mountains. Amazing atmosphere specially around Christmas time. Beautiful Christmas 🎄 markets nice traditional Cafe and restaurants. The most amazing part is that no cars allowed in the Centre. I highly recommend. Monschau is a village back in time.

We were on holidays in a group of 4 friends with our dog, Ladrador size. I mention having our dog with us as it impacts what you do. We did not visit inside buildings however walking around Monschau we could enjoy the magical atmosphere and colours of the buildings. People were friendly, terraces were heated and lovely. We ate out twice, together with our dog and had lovely well priced meals and found the staff to be very friendly.

This was our third visit to Monschau.
This was our third visit to Monschau. It's a useful stopping point from Calais to Germany/Alsace/Mosel Valley. Very pretty town with good restaurants (particularly recommend Zur Halle which is an old-style pub with lovely owners). We stayed in a holiday home about 25 minutes walk from the town (with on-site parking, which was useful).
Very cozy (yes that also means small) room in lovely old house in the center of Monschau. We were the only guests on a weekday night - it seems the town is busier on weekends. We were on a bike tour along the Vennbahnradweg, and this was a nice place to stop for the night. The owner allowed us to store our bikes in the cellar. Room was clean and comfortable but very small. This was fine for us as we just needed a place to stay for the night, but do keep it in mind. We appreciated the small fridge in the room.
Hotel had so much character- much better than a generic accomodation. The whole place really felt like it was out of a different age, and amazingly decorated, but not at all warn out and very clean. This combination made it one of the best places I’ve ever stayed.
Bed was very comfortable, view over Monschou was great
Continental breakfast was good
Staff were very friendly throughout our stay- some spoke only a bit of English, but were committed to working through the language barrier for us
This was the best property i have EVER stayed in- and i have travelled A LOT. The attention to detail in refurbishing this property is mind-blowing. Everything is just great about it, if you ever find yourself in Monschau, book this property hands down. I myself am a hotel owner as well and i was borderline jealous of the meticulous work done at the appartment. Congratulations guys, you made my stay with my spouse and my mother-in-law an unforgettable experience!
Clean, comfortable, modern and spacious apartment. Has everything that you need!
Great location, a quiet neighborhood and Monschau, Aachen and Eifel National Park are just a 15/30 minute drive away.
Also many supermarkets within a 5 minute drive (Kaufland, Lidl, Real...)
Would definitely consider to visit again.
Tip: The hike from Kermeter Paulushof parkplatz to the Urfstaumauer.
The location was out of a fairy-tale, as we had a wonderful view both from the porch of the hotel and our room window. The hotel seemed to have been recently renovated (somewhere in the past 5 years, I would say, but I'm no expert so don't take my word on it) The room was clean though little small. But that was no problem as we spent there just one night.
The Eifel Haus B&B is only a short distance away from the Vennbahn cycle path and an easy walk down to the beautiful village of Monschau. It was great being able to leave our bikes in a secure easy access place overnight. The room had a lovely view over the valley, comfortable beds and a great shower. Everything you need for a short visit to Monschau!
The hotel is located practically in the centre of charming Monschau.
There are two bus stations within walking distance. And there is a variety of cafés and restaurants around, as well as viewpoints overlooking the castle, nature and the small town itself.
Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Good breakfast with excellent coffee.
Monschau is an idyllic location, and the Horchem is a proper traditional small town German hotel right at the heart of it. The dining room has wood panelling, the young staff are smart and really friendly, our room was large and the bed very comfortable. Our balcony looked out onto the river, church, and 'Red House' museum.
Very friendly staff. Loved the location close to Monschau and Eifel national park. Beautiful building, room was spotless and lovely decor. Bed also very comfortable. Excellent breakfast, great to start the day after a good meal. It was a shame their restaurant was closed this time, next time we will eat in as well.
Perfect location in the center of Monschau
Uschi the Tenant very friendly and the apartment super clean.
Bathroom recently renovated.
Well equipped kitchen including microwave, kettle and 2 coffee makers.
Uschi also gave good hint about where to park the car and restaurants.
Great location in the center of Monschau and a very friendly host made our stay wonderful, we felt very welcome, despite strenuous circumstances (recent flooding in the basement). The breakfast was very nice as well, with good buns.
Great location with a parking space. Very clean and newly renovated. I recommend it, especially because in Monschau it is a big issue with parking. The owner is v erysipelas friendly and easy to deal with.
This apartment has a unique location, very medieval, attached to a castle wall, just inside the castle gates. It's large and equipped with everything you need. The view is great, a Monschau panorama!
The loft is very nice, well and stylish equipped. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Location is great, calm village, close to the Belgian Haute Fagnes, Monschau and the Eifel Nature Park.
Super central, beautiful apartment in a typical Monschau house, having all the comfort needed. Big bike storage area and parking place right in front of the house.
