It's a lovely Black Forrest village near the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market- one of the most unique markets in Europe. Its a short drive or train ride to Titisee or Freiburg. We were there in December but there seemed to be quite a few summer activities and sights offered Overall, I enjoyed the relaxation and fresh forest air and atmosphere before a week adventure to Strasbourg, Baden Baden and on to Frankfurt. Made for a beautiful first stop on Christmas Market adventure.

Hinterzarten is a sleepy and quaint village in the Black Forest a walk through the forest away from more touristy spots like Titisee-Neustadt. I like visiting these places but returning to a lesser known village like Hinterzarten. Bus and trains easily take you around the area as well. We visited Freiburg for a day and then came back to this lovely village with a handful of wellness hotels and a few shops and restaurants. If you want a quiet stay where the focus is on wellness and nature, this is a great spot.

It's a great choice.
It's a great choice. Location in the Black Foest is such a plus, Hinterzartin is big enough to walk ar0und the town and eat out if you please. A much better choice then Titisee, the tourist town a few kilometers. If you want a much more relaxes stay, this wouldn't be the one.

Hinterzarten is a beautiful village in the Black Forest with beautiful Chalet style houses. An ideal location to do as much or as little as you want. Oh and yes, a gorgeous bakers/café/cake shop!

It is just around the corner from the train station and close to anything you might need in this lovely place. I highly recommend Sonne Garni. The room was stunning, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice with a big selection. I loved my stay in Hinterzarten and Sonne Garni was the cherry on the top. But Hotel Sonne Garbo has made my trip in Hinterzarten so happy, that I wanted to stay in the hotel more, and feel sad leaving it. The owner has a great laugh and smile, she was very friendly. The breakfast was very delicious and cute, the owner gave me a table next to the window and I can have good view of garden. The room was very cute and has lots of details that makes your stay comfortable. I wish I could come back again some day!

Hotel am Bach location is easy to find however the view was nothing to write home about. The property has excellent WiFi. The speed is great. The breakfast is also decent with many different jams and butter options. Due to Corona the buffet wasn't there but I'd have loved to have buffet there. It was very awkward for me to order things I wanted to have. The decor of the place is super. Owner's amazing taste shows in every corner of the hotel.

Its rooms, facilities, services, are all you need and more. Its wellness area, spa treatments and restaurant are of outstanding quality. I have no words. No wonder most of the guests return year after year. The area is stunning, perfect for relaxing hikes and more, and the forest is right there, out of your window.

Hinterzarten it's self is much better, bars , restaurants, cake shop much better, if your lucky you see the kids on the ski jump, the hotel is super clean and very well kept and very high quality but the decor is a little independent, that all adds to the charm.
