The view of the mountains and having the patio. The quaint old style yet clean and all the amenities. Excellent breakfast. Loved the pool and wished we would have had more time with it!

Nice little hotel out of the way from everything. The rooms are very modern with heated bathroom floors. The shower was great. The wifi was fast. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking.
Offering free Wi-Fi and a sun terrace, this hotel is quietly located in the Ostallgäu district of Bavaria. It features a restaurant serving regional specialties, and each room has a flat-screen TV.

Beautiful! Comfortable! Great location! Good breakfast!
Located in the village of Halblech, the family-run Gästehaus Alpenland offers comfortable rooms 1.2 mi from the large Forggensee Lake. It is 8.7 mi to the German border with Austria.

This is a great area if you like a quiet village, nature, walking, hiking, biking, swimming in nearby lakes. My hotel, Alpenblick, was a perfect location for all of this. Having a car helps, but there are buses to most places in the area and train connections from nearby towns. One big hub is Steingaden from where you can get to most places. This area is a good place to slow down, relax, recuperate if you are living in a fast paced city and all that it entails. People are friendly and helpful if the hotel staff are anything to go by.

Nice village 10 minutes from the Ticketoffice for the castles (at the bottom of Neuschwanstein castle - starting point to discover the castle). Best place to stay with nice view on the mountains and no tourists (contrary to Fussen and Neuschwanstein). Some good restaurants around also :-) more local
Absolutely cannot fault this hotel a five star in our eyes.
The welcome we received was fabulous, immediately offered us a drying room for our wet motorcycle gear and an evening meal even though we had not booked half board rather than needing to head back out into the rain. Meal was so good we booked in for the following night.
The location was breath taking overlooking the mountain, within easy reach of many lakes and Neuschwanstein castle.
Loved the honesty bar and garden to have a relaxing drink of an evening.
Nice and cosy hotel near the castles. The room was clean and had all the necesseties, and the breakfast was really sweet: each table with a little pyramid full of goodies. The rooms are on the first floor, while on the ground floor there is a little reastaraunt where in the evening typical greek food is served. We didn't have the chance to taste it, but it smelled and looked really tasty! The owner didnt't speak English, but she was very nice and helpful and we were able to understand eachother anyway.
The breakfast was extremely pleasant, well organized with many attractive offerings. The room was comfortable and clean and warm on a rather cold, rainy night. The location was sublime with the view across the way stretching off to the mountains in the south--a heavenly spot. I received excellent advice about driving to my next location from a hotel employee who came around at breakfast to ask us how our stay was going. This advice was important and encouraging to me
It was our last day in Bavaria, after a week touring from the Black Forest. Had to see the Neuschwanstein Castle, but be at Munich Airport the following day for a flight home. Worked like clockwork ! Staff eager to please, nothing too difficult.
Hotel and Restaurant run separately, but everything seamless. Excellent meal in the restaurant, after lots of walking, and the morning breakfast was wonderful.
good size room and very pleasant staff. When I arrived it was raining and I was soaked, I was walking the king Ludwig Way. The Mountain View I was supposed to get from my room was poor, rain clouds everywhere. Next morning however, the clouds had gone and the view was to die for. definitely a hotel I would stay at again.
The view from the room was amazing. You could see the mountain and the castle! Room was spacious, with the balcony and a clean bathroom. Very friendly man at the reception! Also, the restaurant that was a part of the hotel served very tasty Italian food with amazing coffee. We could also rent an e-bikes. Lovely place!
The terrace was nice. The room was clean. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was good, but not as great as in other German hotels. There's a small drinks/snack room based on honor system. Guests have access to a small common space and the backyard. Plenty of free parking. It's quiet. Dog friendly (with a fee).
We had a great one night stay at Hotel Bannwaldsee. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and ordered the steak. We have been travelling in Switzerland & Germany for three weeks and I can say was the best meal so far. Beer was also excellent. Thanks
The hotel is great. Very helpful personel, very picturesque place, abundant delicious breakfast, very location. The rooms are very large, with a balcony overlooking the Alps. The beds are king size. There is always a parking space. We will definitely visit again.
We stopped for one night one the way to Italy. It was perfect for a family, lovely big family room (2 rooms connected to each other). We visited the castle and afterwards had a lovely dinner in the restaurant of the hotel. Perfect stop.
The hotel was clean, staff very friendly and the breakfast really delicious. Would highly recommend if you are visiting Neuschwanstein and surrounding castles since it's just a short (less than 10 minute) drive away
The location of the hotel is very good. Accommodation excellent, as well as cleanliness. The hotel has a restaurant with very tasty food with reasonable prices.
Cozy and well-located hotel with a beautiful view of the mountains. The room was big with a nice balcony. The breakfast was delicious, it was a great choice!
