This is our third time staying here, and the staff is always wonderful. The food at the restaurant is really good and the grill house is great as well. We especially enjoyed the breakfast every morning. There's a lot of variety, it's presented really nicely and tastes wonderful. We've stayed in the regular 2nd floor rooms on both sides of the hotel and while the side facing the grill house is nice we also really enjoyed the parking lot side since it had really nice sunrises and less people to watch you relaxing on the balcony. Next time, we'll be trying one of the suites. There's plenty of nearby hikes, a quaint nature park with a petting zoo, sledding, and a ski lift all about 15 minutes away. We like to do a few laps around the lake while our toddler enjoys collecting rocks, sticks, pine cones and seeing the ducks. In the winter they setup a few small booths on the weekends and serve gluhwein for a mini Christmas market. They also cut a hole in the ice by the pier when the lake is frozen over if you want to take a plunge. My wife and I live in Germany, but are from Los Angeles. It's fairly difficult there to find a place like this with so much to offer and for such a reasonable price. We'll be returning to Hotel Am Fichtelsee before we leave germany and would like to visit again someday when our daughters are adults.
Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms with view on the surrounding mountains, good breakfast.
The hotel, located on the outskirts of the small town, is a branch of the "main" hotel Siebenstern which is in the centre of the town. The main branch offers services like a restaurant serving a wide choice of meals at evenings that the hotel garni does not provide. Both hotels are about a five-minutes walk apart.
The hotel room and facilities were clean and well maintained. The swimming pool was about 28°C so perfect also for our kids. I have to mention, that the a la carte menu was exceptionally good!!! The Chef did an awesome job!
Perfect location for a starting point for hikes.
The friendliness of staff. The moment we arrived at the front of the hotel the owner greeted us and directed us to secure motorbike parking at the back of the hotel. The food and drinks were excellent and the location is great for watching the world go by
The host was very friendly. The room was clean and spacious. Great breakfast.
There's a beer garden next to the hotel, we arrived too late to check it out, but it looked very good.
The rooms are clean and well designed. The host is very helpful and we got a friendly welcome in the hotel. We would book this hotel again at any time.
